UFC Undisputed 2010: Hands-On Preview

Getting a hands-on preview of UFC Undisputed 2010 in Las Vegas.

UFC Undisputed 2010 is set to be released May 25, but I was fortunate to get an early hands-on preview as part of a THQ media event out in Las Vegas. After getting a crash course in Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing and Kickboxing as part of a mini-bootcamp, all of the attending journalists were given extensive time to play through the enhanced Career mode with latter part of the evening devoted to an elimination style tournament between the journalists. How did yours truly do in that tournament? I'll get back to that later, but first let me give my impressions of the gameplay changes and new features.

Rumble Roses XX – Review

When a new console comes out, the wide-eyed kid in me wakes up and shoves the jaded, disillusioned gamer aside for a time. With Microsoft's new 360 technology in my living room and two more consoles on the way, there's an innocent little part of my psyche that expects all new games to just be better.

Rumble Roses – Second Opinion

As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing wrong with being a horndog (to use Chi's term), and there's nothing wrong with games that appeal to the libido. Granted, there has to be some kind of gameplay there for such games to be justified, otherwise they become interactive pornography.

Rumble Roses – Review

Almost every wrestling attack results in gratuitous fan service panty shots, compromising spread eagle positions and many other sexualized S&M submissions and holds that make the Kamasutra seem simplistic. The trashiest attacks fill the appropriately titled "Humiliation" meter.

WWF Smackdown!: Just Bring It – Second Opinion

While I certainly do have my own views concerning what I regard as "art", as would anyone, I do not share Chi's opinion for WWF SmackDown: Just Bring Its "Create-A-Wrestler" mode. I've always viewed these features as nothing more than extras designed to beef up a game. Such options would attract my curiosity for little more than five minutes, browsing around to see what they offered in terms of choice and originality, before I permanently left them alone.

WWF Smackdown!: Just Bring It – Review

'What is art?' is one of those questions for the ages that no two persons will agree on, but almost everyone will undoubtedly have an opinion. While it is simply impossible to explore the infinite depth of the question to any great extent in the confines of a 1000 word game review (about a Rasslin' videogame no less), I think most can agree that art has plenty to do with self-expression.
