It’s been a good couple of months since Marvel vs Capcom Infinite released to fairly mixed reception. While the core fighting engine was a blast to play, many players felt underwhelmed by its initial character roster which featured a ton of returning faces and yet was also lacking many fan favorites due to licensing issues – the entire X-Men universe, for example. However, Capcom have also released a season pass allowing players access to six new entrants, and they’re six genuinely new faces, not just previously-available characters brought back for another round of superpowered brawling. (Well, except Venom, but we’ll ignore that for the time being – he was a 2D sprite the last time we saw him.) The real question is, however, are they valuable additions to the roster?
A port of a PC first-person shooter (FPS), Prey is all about running around and blasting things with a number of different weapons and giggling at the aftermath as heads explode in fountains of blood, bone, and brains. Featuring a sci-fi setting (as opposed to the other standard of the genre-a historical war from human history), the title evokes memories of both Doom 3 and Half-Life.
