Free-to-play games have boomed to unprecedented levels of quality over the past couple of years. It’s hardly even a gamble that starting one will be time well spent at this point — it’s just a matter of deciding which game is the most worthy of sinking a boatload of hours into. Whether you’re a MOBA fan, an MMO connoisseur, or an FPS master, there’s something out there for everyone, all at the low, low price of … well, free.
Here at Gamecritics, we’ve been adding information on accessibility to our reviews for over a decade. It’s an issue that’s important to us, and we want others to see its value – after all, we love games, and we want as many people as possible to love them too! However, it’s really hard to love something that’s not willing to let you in, such as games that lack subtitles or visual cues, for example.
In order to get some perspective on the issue form people who are directly impacted, I had a quick chat with the guys from Deaf Gamer TV, a group who do Twitch and YouTube videos in American Sign Language.

Blizzard has made another round of changes to their smash team-based shooter Overwatch as of July 22nd. I love this game and I only play it on PS4, so let’s go over some of the new tweaks specific to the platform, shall we? As such, I’ve decided to keep an eye on things as the game evolves, but I have to admit I’m a little bit puzzled by some of the things they’ve highlighted.
Originally I had written parts of this article for my Overwatch review, but I couldn’t justify another 700 words of straight Team Fortress 2 comparison. Those words now go here, since I wanted to go into more detail about just how much Overwatch is a spiritual child of Team Fortress 2. The TF2 heritage goes beyond aesthetic qualities and deep into the mechanics of its characters. Thus, seasoned TF2 veterans will recognize these similarities very quickly.
