Evolutionary Dead End
HIGH A chance to play a memorable arcade game I never finished.
LOW The gameplay does not age well.
WTF For something that’s essentially a retro release, this package is way too thin.
Murder mysteries have just a single rule that they need to obey. No matter how outlandish the setting, characters, or events, any entry in the murder mystery genre must contain but one thing—a solution. At the end of the story, we must discover who did it. It's actually right there in the genre title. Given that I've chosen to open the review this way, would anyone care to guess what my main problem with the game Still Life was?

The tone and poise of its plain and sincere story are far enough removed from typical videogame fare to warrant valuing it among the few point 'n click adventures that have made it onto the current generation of consoles.

The reason I'm mentioning all this is to point out that Microids' Post Mortem strikes me as being somewhat similar to Frankenstein and much like the monster, despite a noteworthy effort, fails to be seen as a good game.
