Hyper Scape Review

We’ve Been Here Before

HIGH That soundtrack absolutely rules.

LOW Navigating menus like a hub world.

WTF Yeah I’ve been in the pre-game lobby for a while now

Spellbreak Preview

If the success of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has taught us anything, it’s that it’s possible to make a successful battle royale without the use of guns or crafting. As the genre becomes increasingly popular, it’s interesting to see the different spins developers add to the ‘last person standing’ style of play. Spellbreak‘s twist? Fantasy.

Warframe Review

Better Late Than… Early

Gigantic Review

A Gigantic Amount Of Enjoyment

HIGH Tight controls make complex attacks a breeze, even in the most chaotic battles.

LOW After countless beta time, this amount of downtime between matches is disappointing.

WTF Another pummeling loss, driving players straight to the Ultimate Pack upgrade.

Crossout Review

Post-Apocalyptic Cash Flow

HIGH The car-crafting is robust and wildly entertaining.

LOW It takes way too long to earn parts and make progress.

WTF The default controls are unbelievably awful. Change them ASAP.

Fortnite Early Access Preview

Announced several years ago, Epic’s Fortnite has finally made its way through some extremely protracted development launched with an early access build on July 21. There are currently several paid ‘founders’ packs to choose from, in addition to a basic free version on PS4, XBO and PC.

Raiders Of The Broken Planet Preview

Raiders of the Broken Planet is an interesting proposition. Self-funded by Spanish Developers MercurySteam (a team not known for their online skills) the game is an asymmetrical multiplayer third-person shooter that tries to set a balance between guns and melee. The beta itself does a lot to give me hope for the full game, but that hope comes with caveats.

Skyforge Preview

I’ve never been much of a PC player, and as such, never been much of an MMO player either. I always thought I’d give the genre a try once it came to consoles, but that’s been a problematic proposition for many reasons. Still, a few have tried to cross the gap… with mixed results. Nothing has clicked for me yet, although I’ve been checking out Skyforge in pre-release on PS4, and it’s got me interested.
