Parents can rest easy, as Exile lacks any particularly objectionable content. It's reminiscent of fantasy films such as The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, in depicting a struggle between good and evil but remaining bloodless.
Fans of adventure games may very well discard the review and eat this one up. It takes a patient gamer to play this one, and hardcore fans of adventure games are undoubtedly skilled at taking their time. However, the game may feel somewhat tiring as its conventions show their age.
Xbox owners would likely have much more fun with games such as the Prince of Persia games or any of the role-playing games available for the console, which offer many of the same experiences as Myst but in a much less tedious package.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing gamers can enable subtitles, and there are no audio cues that are essential to the gameplay.
