Parents will definitely want to keep this away from children. Max Payne is clearly a gritty and violent action title where dual-gun toting, John-Woo inspired action is prevalent, as well as drug use, sexual innuendos and blood. Several of the games levels take the psychological-thriller route in regards to Maxs murdered wife and child, so younger audiences may find these levels boring or simply incomprehensible from the rest of the game.
Fans of the genre wont feel as involved with Max Paynes average ten-hour completion time. Those who love third person action games with frequent breaks for storytelling, however, might want to check it out.
