
While it seemed obvious for ages, it was officially announced that Sony’s next console will be called the PlayStation 5, and it’s set to launch in the holidays of 2020. In a piece from Wired, details emerged.
One example is that the controllers will no longer use standard rumble, but will instead be utilizing haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Players can also look forward to a solid-state hard drive and raytracing.
In the wake of many major departures from Sony Interactive Entertainment this year including Shawn Layden, it will be interesting to see how they launch the PS5 next year.
