Cuphead, a critical darling from 2017, is being adapted into an animated series known as The Cuphead Show!
Developed by indie Studio MDHR, Cuphead is a side-scrolling platformer with hand-drawn inspired by Max Fleischer’s work in the 1930’s. The game sold over 4 million copies, and won a BAFTA and best independent game from The Game Awards.
C.J Kettler (Carmen Sandiego) will executive produce the show, while the creators will serve the same role at Studio MDHR.
This new animated series will expand on the world and characters of Cuphead, which puts the player in the role of Cuphead and a second player in the role of his brother, Mugman. The pair team up to win their souls back from the devil after they make a deal in a high-stakes gambling match.
