According to the ESRB, this game contains: Violence, Blood and Gore
Parents will want to heed the ESRB rating, though I'd have to say that the M could have easily been a T, in my opinion. There are tons of swordplay and blood gushes, but it's somewhat over the top and unrealistic. If your child can sit through a PG-13 film, they can probably play this with no problem. There are no sexual situations or harsh language.
Action fans won't want to miss this one. It's currently selling at rock-bottom prices, so the quality easily justifies the hard-earned cash. It looks sharp, has a lot of thrills, and doesn't wear out its welcome. The controls are clunky and some of the item puzzles are a drag, but overall it's a winner.
People like me who disliked the first Onimusha should give it a try. It's just different enough to be worth a look, and by the time you get to the boring puzzles and such, you're so close to the end that you have no choice but to power through and get to the dazzling finale… and it's worth it.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing gamers should be fine. Subtitles are available, and there are no significant audio cues—you'll get ambushed by enemies hiding around corners just like normally-hearing folks will.
