Sega Sports NHL 2K is a very good hockey game that could have been great.
Hockey fans would be foolish not to pick up this game, while gamers in general should find it easily accessible thanks to the simple approach to the controls and gameplay. It may be missing the extensive features and options of EA Sports' NHL 2000, but NHL 2K is way more exciting and way more fun to play.
However, someone either at Sega Sports or Black Box Games deserves a slap for not giving this game the development time it deserved. I guess now we have something to look forward to when NHL 2K1 comes out—a game that will have no excuse for not being flawless.
