Although this Sonic update has good ideas, they are sadly bogged down by the game's implementation, which features a wonky camera, faulty collision detection and questionable physics. I felt like the developers started out with a vision or goal for the game, but got lost along the way.

If FFX was Tidus' story, then X-2 is Yuna's. And her story is funny, bittersweet, poignant and downright witty in turns, all wrapped up in some tight but stylish gameplay.

Lately I've felt the Japanese RPG has stagnated, which is a difficult admission for this diehard fan of the genre. But I think Xenosaga stands out as one of the best PlayStation 2 (PS2) RPGs. Xenosaga made me truly care about its world, by being a good game that tells a great story well.
No longer a platform-hopping lil' guy in blue, Mega Man is now a muscular online avatar of sorts, an extension of his offline counterpart Lan. I'm reminded of the anthropomorphic logos that were common in the 1950's but were retired in modern times, because a walking stack of tires (Michelin) just wasn't "cool." Perhaps this MegaMan.EXE avatar was brought to the console by Capcom in order to prove that their gaming icon can stay relevant.
