Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut and Bose – Consumer Guide

Jason Karney's picture

According to ESRB, this game contains: Blood and Gore, Language, Suggestive Themes, Violence

Parents will probably not want to buy this for young children, due to violence and some scenes that may be disturbing to them.

Fans of Xenosaga Episode I will likely want to continue the story, and will enjoy the return of the old cast, but should consider that the battle system has changed quite a bit. YMMV ("Your Mileage May Vary"). Sidequests provide variety and break up the game with humor, as well as opportunities to earn various items - which is good, because this game doesn't use money. The mechs are back in new form, and are required in several areas now.

Gamers who missed Xenosaga Episode I
will probably want to play that game first, in order to better understand the events that led up to Episode II.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing gamers will be served by the game's use of subtitles and should have no trouble.
