Fatal Frame is a scary and original horror experience. While not a great game, it does deliver on its promise to explore the survival-horror genre from a fresh perspective.

Blood Wake is not a game that will engage gamers wits or captivate them with its story. It is a simple, easy to play, easy to enjoy arcade-style game that holds up well for a short time but, unfortunately, crumbles under the simplicity of its design.
Game Description: If you consider Captain Hook and Bluebeard noble men who were simply misunderstood, then Blood Wake is the game for you. As a member of a rebel clan of modern-day pirates, you’ll find yourself engaged in a three-way battle for supremacy on the high seas. Choosing from a wide variety of boats, each equipped with a full arsenal, you’ll undertake a series of missions that could mean the difference between victory and defeat for your tribe. If being a pirate has always been your lifelong dream, then get ready to make it a reality with Blood Wake.
Game Description: NFL Blitz 2002 has been completely reinvented by the original creators of the NFL Blitz arcade game to take advantage of the powerful PlayStation 2 platform. All of the 3D player models, NFL stadiums, and over-the-top animations have been re-created, along with the team-specific plays and intense sound effects. The over-the-top gameplay features players leaping, soaring, diving for passes, stiff-arming, the bulldozing and railroading of would-be defenders, and precision passing. Intuitive, fast-action, extreme-style controls allow for quick-response gameplay. The game is equipped with the original NFL Blitz point-'n'-pass system and icon passing. Dynamic camera angles capture all of the deep crossing routes and monster sticks by the linebackers.

My experience with NFL Blitz goes back to 1997, when it was introduced into arcades everywhere. I remember watching players complete 60-yard passes on offense and deliver some brutal hits on defense that I only thought Id see on a pro wrestling telecast. I had heard that Blitz was the brainchild of Mark Turmell, the same Midway programmer who spearheaded Midway's other immensely popular sports title, NBA Jam.

SpyHunter is a decent remake and given the competition, is perhaps one of the better ones. Paradigm Entertainment managed to keep the arcade gameplay in tact—for better or worse—and put together a good game. Ordinarily all you can ask is that they at least match whatever positives were in the original, but in the case of SpyHunter that means it hasnt risen about a primitive arcade game released almost two decades ago. SpyHunter is little more than a graphical update to an arcade classic.

I'm a little loath to admit it, but I'm definitely old (or should I say ancient?) enough to remember SpyHunter from its arcade days. It was never a favorite of mine, but I did enjoy plunking a few quarters into it every now and then. While my score and Dale's aren't too far apart, I think that I ended up liking the game a lot more than he did.
