Super Smash Bros.

Video: The Bastion narrator invades other games

Bastion made a name for itself thanks to its beautiful aesthetic and the use of a narrator. But what other games could benefit from someone giving essentially a play-by-play of the action on the screen? Dorkly tries it with just a few popular franchises.

Video: Super Smash Land Demo 2 makes us ponder what might have been

This is the second trailer—don't know how I missed the first trailer—of fan-made Super Smash Land. Essentially its Super Smash Bros. remade as a Game Boy game and available for the PC. Yeah, I know we were all asking for this ever since the Nintendo 64 original, but you know that Nintendo can drag its feet when it comes to giving the fans what they want.

Right now, Dan Fornace's Smash Bros. demake is only available as a demo and only features Mario, Kirby, Pikachu and Link. But Fornace promises the final game will be completed soon and support more modes than one should expect from a game made by one person.

Super Smash Bros. adventure

Because of a visual-spatial disability, I don't know how to get many places on my own; I wasn't able to get anywhere alone at all until I graduated from college. This kind of freedom is still new to me, and going anywhere without my mom or a friend makes me all giddy, like a 16-year-old with a driver's license.

Is there anything to learn from it about the world of videogames? The answer to both these questions is yes, and it is an issue that is best pressed now, lest we allow Brawl, the new installment for the Wii, to go unnoticed and unrecognized like its predecessors.

Super Smash Bros. Melee – Second Opinion

Nintendo makes the game accessible to anyone right from the start. Melee is easy to learn, but it takes a lot of time and effort to truly master even one character. And when you consider that the game features more than 20 playable characters, mastering the entire game would be a tremendous undertaking.

Super Smash Bros. Melee – Review

Nintendo incites a "teddy bear" complex for me. I started playing video games with the original 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System. Fifteen years later my matured taste in games led me to buy a Playstation 2. However, I keep coming back to Nintendo. I have an attachment to it, much like people are attached to their old teddy bears.
