House of the Dead III – Review

Aside from Nazis (who are probably chosen because they're a great human representation of absolute evil) the zombie is the hardest working stiff in all of videogames (pun fully intended). And while Romero's zombie universe has served as the template for the earliest zombie games (including the much-lauded Resident Evil series), developers have begun to emulate some of the new breed of zombie as well. One of the games to do this quite successfully is Sega's House Of The Dead III.

Finny the Fish & the Seven Waters – Review

I like goofy, oddball games. I live for them, in fact. If not for the occasional surprise out of left field or insane concept that miraculously trickles down through the approval process, I'm not sure if I'd even still be into games today. The current disc rekindling my love of electronic entertainment: Finny the Fish & the Seven Waters.

Vampire Night – Review

Where Vampire Night differs is the slightly slower paced action on screen. Rather than having enemies clutter the screen and overwhelm players, Vampire Night has a more calculated flow and enemies tend to exhibit more physical reactions and gestures than one might expect from this type of game.

Vampire Night

Game Description:  What is the world to do when vampires overrun it? It turns to the only two guys who have a chance against the bloodsuckers: Michel and Albert. Based on the arcade game of the same name, Vampire Night allows you to choose your character and set out to shoot vicious vampires. Taking place in an idyllic European village, the game sends you through snowy fields, old dungeons, back alleys, and more. Awesome cutscenes help the story advance, while two-player action makes the experience even more exciting.

World Series Baseball 2K1 – Second Opinion

Yet much to my own surprise, despite these usually unforgiving errors, I actually started to enjoy playing WSB2K1 after extended games. Chalk it up mainly to the pitcher/batter interface. There are going to be some obvious complaints like the ones that Dale made about the indistinguishable pitch selection and the lack of batter movement around the box. But there are also some really great positives to the system.

World Series Baseball 2K1

Game Description: What better way to pass the time than with the national pastime? Thanks to World Series Baseball 2K1, you can bring home the whole year's worth of Major League Baseball—from the earliest spring exhibition game to the last dramatic out of the fall classic. The game features everything it should: updated 2000 MLB rosters and stats for all National League and American League teams; all the parks, including San Francisco's new Pacific Bell Park and Seattle's Safeco Field; and all the management functionality needed to replace a tired pitcher or send in a left-handed pinch hitter.
