A Wolf in Man's Clothing

The Wolf Among Us Screenshot

HIGH An urban fantasy detective story? Yay!

LOW Slow loading and framerate chugging with a game like this? Really?

WTF How in the world are they going to resolve this cliffhanger?!?

A World of Canyons

Tales of Xillia Screenshot

Playing Tales of Xillia made me think of Final Fantasy, which was probably not the intended effect.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified Review

Is It XCOM? No. Is It Great? Yes!

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified Screenshot

HIGH Fantastic style and a great story with genuine surprises.

LOW Brutal starting difficulty. The endgame has too many mobs.

WTF Finishing only one investigation short of a perfect run!

Doctor Sus

HIGH Climbing into the temple.

LOW Dealing with the electrified monsters near the end.

WTF The desk was dark. I turned on the lamp. The desk was still dark.

Puppeteer Review

Less than Meeeeeowgical

Puppeteer Screenshot

HIGH Great "theatrical" premise.

LOW Finding out the heads aren't good for much.

WTF Stellar voice actors are wasted on a bland, tiresome script.

Things I saw at the Boston Festival of Indie Games

Candlelight Screenshot

A while back I took a quick swing up to MIT to check out the Boston Festival of Indie Games, which was a neat little show I really enjoyed visiting. Musical Fisting

HIGH Martial arts and music are a great fit.

LOW Starts to feel repetitive way too soon.

WTF Mei's story has all the songs unlocked from the start?

Defiance Screenshot

I didn't have time to complete the campaign when I was submitting the review, but now that I've had a little bit of free time in my schedule, I was eager to get back to it. I'm happy to say that I finally completed the campaign, and that the game is 100% solo-able. In fact, it's maybe a little too solo...

Grand Theft Auto V Review

A Grand Scheme

HIGH The drive from Blaine County back to Los Santos, and seeing the skyline for the first time. It was only then that I began to grasp just how much larger the map was compared to any other game.

LOW Trevor and Michael fighting over the same thing for the fifteenth time.

WTF First-person doggystyle. It'll make you laugh.

XCOM Declassified, Lone Survivor and... Defiance?

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified Screenshot

What have I been playing? I just completed The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, and much like Lost Planet 3, it's another great game which started off with a few strikes against it, and as far as I can tell, apparently everyone on earth has now forgotten that it exists.
