Halo Reach

My feelings towards Halo in general is higher than "just ok", but not "loving it". Good, but not great.

There are a lot of elements that Bungie does well and others not so.

I really play it for the multiplayer. The space physics plus sticky bombs makes for an amusing combination.

Is Halo over hyped? Definitely. All though I think the Halo buzz has died down in the past 3 years.

My opinion of Reach is positive so far, but it is too soon to tell.

I'll really get to play it Thursday night and on the weekend.

More to come...

better than halo 3, but

better than halo 3, but still just a slightly above average game.

Hmmm...I'm not too keen on the "hate it" choice being used in this poll. Chances are, if you pick(ed) this game up, you've likely purchased the three previous titles in this series. As such, you'll probably revel in this game's marginal refinement of an already established/successful formula. If you don't like this series, then you probably stopped caring after Halo 2. I can't imagine Halo fans "hating" the overall experience.

Halo is actually one of my

Halo is actually one of my guilty pleasures since I know as a game it is beaten to death by the likes of Half-Life, and for multiplayer PC games have and always will have the upper hand (heck, even MW2 on consoles has better multiplayer these days). I also hate admitting I like a game that is mostly played by imbeciles (and I'm not being elitist; if you have a brain cell it's easy to come to this conclusion). But damn, I have a soft spot for Bungie's efforts.

Sadly, even though I love Halo 1, 3 and ODST (I don't include Halo 2 as it was massively rushed out and ended up being a complete design mess from every angle) Reach is, kinda, poor. The story is definitely bad. Super bad. And I just came from playing Bayonetta, so I know what I'm talking about here. Don't get me wrong, Halo never had a mega story, but at least the characters had soul and heart, and the story was interesting, but Reach is the some of the biggest melodrama-clichéd crap I've ever seen in my life.

Ironically I don't buy games for multiplayer, but with Reach that's the only feature I can enjoy. But even that isn't great either to be honest.

Hoping you guys review it soon, cause the score on metacritic certainly needs pulling down to something more tolerable.
