My first and only experience with multiplayer-only online shooters was a few years back when I reviewed Battlefield 2142, a game that features the exact same premise and publisher as Titanfall. Judging it against its most similar competition, Titanfall is a far better game than B:2142, but leaving it there would be to damn the game with faint praise.

HIGH Perfectly dodging two samurai and taking them both down, then nailing a biker who tried to sneak in an attack while I was busy.
LOW Just as I cleared a difficult floor with a Perfect, the game crashed.
WTF The samurai helmets seem like they're pushing the themed-gang motif a little too far.

The Forever Dead
HIGH The desperate thrill of running out of bullets and finishing off a zombie horde with a wrench.
LOW All of my hard-gathered resources disappearing because the game was broken for a week.
WTF Ah, a dynamite suicide vest. That'll teach those zombies for tearing my guts out!

Is There Really a Curse?
HIGH Rocketing through the air over a chasm before miraculously drawing a vine to save myself from certain death.
LOW The hiding places of some collectibles are flat-out unfair.
WTF I hated that monster until I was killing him - where are these tears coming from?

HIGH Exploring the cenotes to find artifacts.
LOW Ugh, a mission with Connor.
WTF So I guess I just exit this warehouse and... OH GOD A BEAR!

Grilling me softly with his song.
HIGH When the whole thing finally ‘clicks.'
LOW Dying out of nowhere for seemingly no reason during a solid run.
WTF This entire experience. Alien invasion thwarted by grilled meats...?

How I tried to stop worrying and love the drift
HIGH Lovely track environments, delicious vehicle handling, intriguing event variety.
LOW Occasionally aggressive AI behavior, unconscionable amount of grind in single-and multi-player.
WTF The single-player campaign's half-hearted mixture of social media bandwagoning and corporate celebration is truly bizarre.

Everyone's a Villain
HIGH Realizing at the beginning of the fourth chapter what I'd actually been doing.
LOW Every moment and battle involving Bailiff Lasca.
WTF My nimble hunter slips and falls every time she tries to cross a puddle, but nobody, not even the dwarf, stumbles while trying to run through a knee-deep swamp?
By Sparky Clarkson on February 24, 2014 - 11:46am.
Monty, this seems strange to me
HIGH A puzzle where a turbine the player can't turn is rotated by the air currents rising off a few candles. Hey, at least I got a laugh out of it.
LOW The incredibly irritating stagger affecting the main character's walk at the start of the game.
WTF So the combination to this safe is just written on a note in the drawer underneath the safe?
By Brad Gallaway on February 24, 2014 - 10:12am.
Stealing Stuff In Dark Places
HIGH Garrett is flowing, smooth, dark and deadly.
LOW Too many illogical, immersion-shattering instances of weirdness.
WTF Where the hell does Garrett carry all the stuff he swipes?!?
