No one wants Nintendo consoles...

If our highly-reliable scientific poll is anything to go by, Nintendo is going to be looking at pretty disappointing Wii and DS sales for December.

Poll update

Christmas 2008 has come and gone and as of Christmas day, the Xbox 360 was the console most people wanted to find under the tree.

Microsoft Xbox 360: 34%
Sony PlayStation 3: 30%
Nintendo Wii: 10%
Sony PlayStation 2: 5%
Nintendo DS: 3%
PlayStation Portable: 4%
None of the above: 14%

Of course, that doesn't mean that is what people actually received. Our poll was only to see what people wanted to get. That might explain why the PS3 polled so high--at $399.99 it is still an impractical purchase for many.

Can't wait for the December NPDs though. (There you will find actual hardware sales figures.) One thing is for probably certain, the Nintendo Wii did better than our poll would indicate. Hell, going by recent sales trends, if you didn't hope to find a Wii under the tree, chances are that you will find one there whether you want it or not.
