According to ESRB, this game contains: Mild Violence
Parents have nothing to be afraid of here. There is no blood, questionable language or sexual content—but be aware that your kids can decide to draw anatomically correct figures if they wish. Nothing says "fierce warrior" like a wobbly penis, after all.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Gamers will have no problems. There are no significant audio cues for gameplay, and almost all communication is presented with text. The only hiccup I noticed was that some phrases during battle ("yeah!" or "take that!") are audio-only.
Quirky gamers or those with an artistic slant will want to check out Magic Pengel. There's really nothing else like it on shelves today, and creating Doodles is can be endlessly amusing. See the note to "Parents" above.
Monster Rancher fans might want to get into this, though it's not quite as good. Raising monsters is vaguely analogous to modifying your Doodles, and both share the arena combat motif. It lacks the visceral punch and personality of Tecmo's work, but it'll hold you over until Monster Rancher 4.
