Pirates: The Legend of Black Kat – Consumer Guide

According to the ESRB, this game contains: Suggestive Themes, Violence

Parents
might want to look into Pirates due to its extreme simplicity and ease of play. I'm sure most younger gamers will get into the hack and slash elements combined with the immediate rewards of finding buried treasure. The game's violence content is nothing more offensive than the basic depiction of evil pirates and monsters dying by your sword. It's not graphic or gory at all since the death effect is a colorful flash, but its clear that human beings are losing their lives and that might bother some. While it's nice to have a strong, vibrant female protagonist in a game, some parents may find Kat's décolletage a bit much. It's nothing out of the ordinary when you consider she's more for sex appeal than role modeling, though. There is no explicit sex or language.

Gamers in general are in for an extremely simple yet visually appealing pick-up-and-play adventure. Theres some good atmosphere and a lot of potential, but its so shallow that you probably wont even remember it as soon as the next game comes along.

Action gamers looking for a quick fix will probably get into Pirates as long as they don't expect anything too deep or involving. There's enough swordfighting and knife-throwing to get your thumb working, and no brainpower is required.

Fans of pirates will want to check it out since its the best pirate game that I've ever played. However, considering the competition and how often pirate games come out, that's not saying much.
