Pigsy's Perfect 10, The Deep Cave and some random links

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West -- Pigsy's Perfect 10 Screenshot

The first thing I played after formally ending my hiatus from games was the Pigsy's Perfect 10 DLC for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I don't want to say too much about it since I'm considering doing a quick review for it, but what I will say is that it was excellent from start to finish.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Review

Mcnamara? Really? You Couldn't Throw Eisenhower or Truman in There?

HIGH: JFK spouting off one-liners while blasting zombies in the face.

LOW: The complete and total incompetence of my squadmates.

WTF: Why does the guy I'm torturing suddenly turn around and help me when the bad guys show up?

The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest Review

HIGH The cutscenes will make you wistful for the superior films.

LOW My wrist. Ow... Ow; my wrist.

WTF Who is this game for!?

Video: New Super Mario Bros. 3?

Still don't see why people with such talent don't just create their own games and not "enhance" or extend games that already exist. BUT, this is a pretty impressive feat for one person. And it is still Super Mario Bros. 3. So Super Mario Bros. 3 with New Super Mario Bros. graphics and gameplay elements? Yes, please!

Undead Nightmare, MGS Peace Walker and Japan's Top 10

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare Screenshot

I've been trying to push forward in Red Dead Redemption, but after putting a few hours into it, it still hasn't grabbed me. Great graphics, plenty of content, blah blah blah… I think the thing for me is that I'm a big story guy. Stories and characters matter to me, and if a game gets off on the wrong foot then it takes a lot for me to stay with it. I know a lot of people say that Redemption really pays off in the end, but it just starts so poorly that I can't find the motivation to continue.

Phoenix Wright Is Fucking Awesome

As anyone who has the misfortune of following me on Twitter will know, I've been engrossing myself in Phoenix Wright for the past few days, and the game has pretty much been riding solo in my newly acquired DS. I'm just about at the end of episode 5, so not totally done yet. However, unless the game suddenly turns into Mega Man X7 within this last case, I can safely say that Phoenix Wright will rocket straight to the top of my "late to the party" list. And as a bonus, I have the correct spelling of "Phoenix" memorized after years of always relying on spellckeck.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions Review

Swinging Four Ways

HIGH Dragging a gunsel into the shadows and webbing them to a wall in a single, effortless motion.

LOW Being unable to tell an enemy from a wall in 2099.

WTF Wait... he ate Uncle Ben? Ick.

Knights in the Nightmare Second Opinion

Something Old, Something New

Knights in the Nightmare Screenshot

HIGH The first time I dominated an encounter after fully comprehending the battle system.

LOW Another last boss? Why can't this game just be over!

WTF Japanese developers really love their quasi-Christian bad guys.

What to play before 2011?

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Screenshot

I'm trying to decide what to tackle next… No decisions have been made yet, so I'll probably just try a few random things I've downloaded and then go to bed. However, while on the subject, it does bring up the issue of 2010—specifically, that there's only about eighty days left in it.
