HIGH Utterly elegant from top to bottom.

LOW The difficulty of certain rooms is hateful.

WTF As if anyone could beat this game without a single death...

If you read this blog even occasionally, then you probably know that I'm not much of a PC gamer. However, I do make the occasional exception for certain titles. This evening, one of those special cases found its way into my hardware: VVVVVV by Terry Cavanagh.

Although I had planned on doing more in-depth coverage of the game tonight, after some consideration I decided to hold off until I'm completely done. However, I will say that it's a pretty superb little title, and I'm enjoying the heck out of it.

ADHD RPG

HIGH The final quest is a perfect realization of what Half-Minute Hero is all about.

LOW Any mode not titled Hero 30 seems dialed in.

WTF Did they have to reuse the catfish overlord so many times?

In This Case, The Length Is A Good Thing

HIGH It's a real JRPG, except it doesn't waste your time.

LOW The Knight 30 mode could have used a little more work.

WTF Why is nobody talking about this game?

HIGH Absorbing a big lifeform just slightly smaller than me.

LOW Miscalculating my orbit in the sun levels and dying when I was close to finishing a level.

WTF Shouldn't my lifeform become intelligent at some point after consuming so many others?

The chinchillas are on fire!

HIGH It's a natural fit for the Wiimote, and a great concept.

LOW The graphics are going to be hard to get past for some gamers.

WTF You expect me to risk my life for some chinchillas?
