Puzzle

This is not a Puzzle Agent review

Unlike many gamers with disabilities, there aren't many barriers in games that make them completely inaccessible to me. Sure, there are games I don't like and usually avoid (first-person shooters: I navigate much better in the third-person than the first), and games that mesh with my pattern of skills (the grind-heavy role-playing game [RPG]), but I can count on one hand games that are unplayable because they force me to do something I'm incapable of.

Picross 3D Review

It's like Picross, but in 3D!

HIGH A fantastic sequel to a great puzzle game.

LOW The step-by-step progression to reach harder puzzles.

WTF That's supposed to be a horse!? Really!?

Picross 3D

Game Description: Picross 3D is the single player sequel to the popular Picross DS puzzle game. The original game was a number-based grid puzzle that challenged players to reveal a hidden picture. Picross 3D ratchets up the challenge, moving the action into three dimensions. Blending the logical challenge of a sudoku puzzle with the excitement of discovering hidden images, Picross 3D is a must-have for any puzzle fan on the DS. Additional features include multiple categories of puzzle challenges and wireless functionality that allows puzzles to be shared both via the Internet and over a local Nintendo Wi-Fi connection.

What will the Ducks Reveal?

Blue Toad Murder Files: Episodes 4, 5 & 6 Screenshot

HIGH Witty writing and memorable characters—the Butcher rules.

LOW Trying to understand the convoluted plot reveal in Episode 4.

WTF The ridiculous mouse/cat/dog puzzle in Episode 6.

Chimes Review

Ringing... Ringing...

Chimes Screenshot

HIGH Ah, the soothing sound of windchimes... how relaxing!

LOW Doesn't seem long on its legs.

WTF It's not a flashy game, but I think App Store reviewers are awfully harsh on such an inexpensive purchase. (Admittedly a common problem in the App Store.)

Echoshift Review

Puzzles without Borders

HIGH The same high for all puzzle games: the "a-ha!" moment.

LOW Having to redo the first four casts the same way just so I can reattempt the fifth one again and again is tiresome.

WTF Echochrome had a delicious fast-forward button. Where'd it go?

Hamlet Review

Yes, You're Reading that Right

HIGH: Perfectly bizarre in every way.

LOW: Near-impossible to solve puzzles with confusing clues.

WTF: Laertes is wearing a helmet like the one from Full Metal Jacket.
