Crackdown 2 Review

More of the Same, Only Less of it

Crackdown 2 Screenshot

HIGH It's good to hear the voice of the announcer again.

LOW An astonishing lack of variety and absurd amounts of repetition.

WTF Why was this not released as $15 DLC?

Red Dead Redemption Review

The Legend of John Marston

Red Dead Redemption Screenshot

HIGH Taking down the Bollard Twins gang in a running gunfight in Pike's Basin.

LOW A late mission using a surprisingly ineffective car-mounted Browning machine gun in poor visibility.

WTF I went through all that crap with the grave robber just so he could dance like a lunatic in Fort Mercer?

Red Dead Redemption

Game Description: Red Dead Redemption is an open-world, third-person, action-adventure game set at the tail end of the American West West era. Action takes place in the first few years of the twentieth century and revolves around the choices that the protagonist, former outlaw John Marston, is forced to make due to his blemished past. The game features a morality system assigning honor and fame points generated through the player's choices. It also features Wild West themed mini-games, new targeting and cover systems, extensive horse riding abilities, a wealth of period specific weapons and more than 40 huntable animals.

Just Cause 2 Review

A Nice Place to Visit, but...

Just Cause 2 Screenshot

HIGH Insane chopper-to-chopper grappling hook action.

LOW The sheer number of missions to finish before credits roll.

WTF Falling 10,000 feet and grappling towards the ground for safety.

The Saboteur Review

Black and White and Red All Over

The Saboteur Screenshot

HIGH Blowing an entire Nazi base sky-high in the space of a few seconds.

LOW Any time you try to escape an alarm in a car.

WTF They can blow up heavily armored tanks, so why don't my explosives damage buildings?

Brütal Legend Second Opinion

It had the Chrome but Not the Polish

Brütal Legend Screenshot

HIGH Crashing a flaming zeppelin into the enemy stage at the end of a long battle.

LOW The aforementioned long battle.

WTF Pardon me, but I think about a third of the story has gone missing.

Brütalizing Brütal Legend

Brütal Legend Screenshot

Tim Schafer is a brilliant guy and I have tons of respect for him, but he's just been off lately. I don't care what anybody says, Psychonauts was a big bag of fail to me, and although Brütal Legend is better, it's still not anywhere near what it could've been. In fact, I'm not even really sure what it is.
