To the new generation of young gamers, playing a Sonic The Hedgehog title on a Nintendo platform might not seem like anything that extraordinary, for it just represents another side-scrolling title. Yet, for anyone having owned a Super Nintendo or Sega Genesis and still retaining a bit of knowledge of the early nineties’ console war, such a thing would have been unthinkable even two years ago.

From Mary Shelly's Frankenstein to Spielberg's AI, the notion of an artificial being, created in the likeness of a human, is a subject that continues to captivate fans of science fiction. Ironically, despite the interest, characters like Frankenstein and David are often tragic; their lives made miserable by the fear and suspicion of real people. Such responses arent always justified, but thats how people would probably react when faced by such beings.

Playing Golden Sun is like returning to your bedroom after being away for years. You'll still know where everything sits, and you can pretty much navigate the place with your eyes shut. Golden Sun presents that type of familiarity, especially with gamers who enjoyed the 16-bit era of role-playing games with the Super NES.

Extreme sports have never really made a mark on me. Whenever such competitions would air on television, it wouldnt take long before I decided to switch the channel. Considering this, it shouldnt be surprising to learn that my experience in playing the video game equivalent has consisted of spending a few minutes on different occasions trying out a Tony Hawks Pro Skater title on demonstration in a store.
