Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Back again, this time with Resident Evil 4. What a great game! I mean really. Too unbalanced though. I went through the game conserving my healing items, only to find that at the end I could've purchased twenty-eight first aid sprays. That's a lot. Part of what made the game so great for me was that the threat of death was pretty commonplace. Had I known that, at any time, I could've just loaded up on first aid sprays instead of upgrading the attack of my shotgun, the fear factor (UGH.) would've been sigificantly lessened. And grenades are as common as candy, but they can make mincemeat out of any boss in seconds. Other than those two extremely minor annoyances, this game is hot. I'm going to play it again right away.
But I have a question. What's up with that section near the end with that thing in the dumpster that flops around? I shot it and Leon is just like "What the hell is that thing?" There were a couple more of those things hanging on meathooks also. Is it supposed to be Tofu from RE2? Or was that little section just poking fun at Silent Hill? Or neither of the above?

Beat Killer7!
What a fantastic game!
The gameplay never really got stale, I just wished that the gunfights were a little more tense, but it was still fantastic. Perhaps Killer8 mode would do the trick.
I friggin loved the story, and the last 2 levels were pretty remarkable.

Guitaroo Man; I love games that play even better when you're standing up.
Question is, would my thumbs ever forgive me if I take the pluinge into Master's Mode?

Hey, that's more money for you to use on cooler weapons the second time through.

Haven't posted on this thread in a while. Recently beat Sigma Star Saga and finally gave up on Burnout 3: Takedown at 95%. I got all Golds in all of the Crash Mode events and medaled in all but 2 events in Race Mode. All but a few of my medals were golds, but enough is enough with that game.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I have defeated Icewind Dale and its expansion Heart of Winter. I did this with a human necromancer, a ½-elven cleric, and four fighters, three of which were dual-classed at 9th level into a illusionist, cleric, and thief, respectively, with the final fighter staying a fighter until the bitter end.
I did not defeat Trials of the Luremaster, though I may at some future point to so; neither did I attempt Heart of Fury mode for long, since my 14th level fighter with the thaco of -5 couldn’t hit the beetles in the wine cellar at the beginning of the game. If I want to punish myself, I’ll play Hydlide while using a scourge.
I have approximately 282 games I have not beaten in my collection. I estimate an average of 12 hours to beat each game (many are rpg’s). I play an average of one hour per day (damn that sleeping, working, and eating!). I buy, on average, two games a month (alas, I am not wealthy, but rather a consumer of used goods.) Therefore, I will have caught up and beaten every game I own in 41 years, by which time most likely my disembodied brain will be controlling Mario through the jar in which it resides.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Handcannon, GET! That is to say, I beat The Mercenaries minigame on RE4 tonight. I beat all of the missions except for Krauser's in one sitting today, and the only reason I didn't do his was because I finished them last night.
Y'know, I'd love to be able to play as these guys in the main mode. Or at least something a little more robust, like Assignment Ada. I'm not saying The Mercenaries isn't great, just that it went by so quickly. Any word on what extras the PS2 version is getting?
Next up, Pro mode with that kickass RPD costume.
EDIT: Oh hey, I seem to have come across the true ending to RE4. Neato.

Well, you can't tecnically beat it, but I'm beating the crap out of Battlefield 2. I love this game. The squad system and the commanders add a whole new element to the game, as does the lack of ammo or health crates. My favorite battlefield game so far.

Isn't Ashley supposed to be, like, 17 years old in this game? That's a little too creepy for me.

Just finished Silent Hill 2. Sure is better than the Resident Evil series...

Two things: The odds that Leon isn't 10 years older than Ashley is are pretty damn low, and considering the recent sensitivity found in the pedophile thread, I thought that I wasn't the only one with alarm bells. Unless you don't mind a 27-year-old screwing a 17-year old.
EDIT: And yeah, I know you're kidding - you've just had it in for me lately.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Beat God of War two nights ago and Ico about an hour ago. Ico really washed out the bad taste that God of War left. I really, really, really hated the "protect the VIP" mission and last boss in GoW.
Finishing Ico was all it's cracked up to be and there's nothing I can say about the game that hasn't already been said. One cool thing-- my 4 year old niece and 6 year old nephew were watching me finish it up. After about 5 minutes of watching and not saying anything, they became pretty attached to Yorda.
They started asking me all about the story and any time Yorda was off screen, they'd ask where she was and if she was okay. It was really cute and goes to show how powerful the game can be. Unfortunately, they had to go right before the ending. I was a little hesitant to show it to them anyway, because I thought I knew what was going to happen. until the scene after the credits of course...

Nowhere in the game is her age mentioned.
