Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Strangely, I've played through Army of Zin but not Ghosts To Glory! I believe you should love Maximo vs. The Army Of Zin if you enjoyed the first Maximo, as i've heard that it fixes a few problem GTG had, namely the camera and difficulty. I've played through Army of Zin several times, and I must say that its one of the finest games on PS2 with an absolutely awesome and well produced soundtrack (the Dead Sea songs being my personal favorite); I'd kill to be able to buy a copy but sadly one hasn't been released.

I actually thought Maximo wasn't all that hard. I mean, once you get used to the "lens" and figure out how to kill stuff, it's easy as pie.
Maybe I'm just talented.

Congrats Boy. I did the guidebooks for both Maximo games and I never understood the complaints about difficulty or bad camera. I really enjoyed playing both games, but there's no doubt the sequel is a bit better. I think you'll enjoy it, especially if you try to save all of the Innocents and whatnot. It was a good time.

I beat Viewtiful Joe 2 a while back and just forgot to mention it. Very meh. I remember a thread blasting Metroid Prime 2 for being too much like the first. This game is much worse. It's the same friggin' game, basically, but with far less unlockables.

Finished Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas after a great effort on my part. It took me over 45 hours to complete. I can't remember EVER playing a game that long, not even an RPG. So much neat stuff to do in the game, i'll still be picking it up once in a while and clock in some more hours.

Heh, only 45? I quit after hour 60, and at that point I was only just returning to Los Santos in the storyline.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I just finished Final Fantasy X-2: Return of Final Fantasy X for the PS2. A few comments:
- For a such a non-linear game, the story was remarkably cohesive. There was much less metaphysical stuff going on than in the original game; I prefer my FF's a little more grounded in reality (like FF-IX) and this game was definitely that.
- Not that it needs mentioning, but good lord, Square produces the finest FMV cutscenes of any game company, by far.
- The majority of mini-games blew (the "revamped" blitzball was just an atrocity, and everything in the Calmlands was lame) but Sphere Break was fantastic. Go math!
- As I approached the endgame, I was content leveling my dressspheres and exploring Spira...I really wasn't in a hurry...until I found the ultimate "9999" combo which rendered me effectively invincible. At that point, I lost interest and plowed into the final area. Oddly, the exact same thing happened when I found the ultimate "9999" weapon in Xenosaga: Episode I.
- For the first time I'm aware of in a mainline Final Fantasy game, the classic Final Fantasy theme song was nowhere to be heard, not even a snippet of it. I was kind of disappointed by that. I've played these games since the original, and I do love that melody. Sad.
- I finished with 76%, and unlocked New Game+. I'd really like to take a FAQ and get 100%, but I know myself too well -- I'll never get around to it. After the rush of finishing an RPG wears off, the thought of replaying it becomes repugnant. I'll probably never boot it up again.
On the Gamecritics scale, I give it an 8.0.

Yeah, Boy, only 45. When I played the game I mainly (90%) just stuck to plowing through the missions, occasionally taking a break to explore some areas and just mess around. Anytime I played the game without actually completing any missions, I didn't bother to save.

Ah yeah, that explains it. I thought you were just really fast, or I was really slow one.

I got to one of the last missions back in Los Santos and stopped playing. I don't know if I'll ever finish it off. I do that sort of thing a lot.
Anyway, I just beat Metal Gear Solid 3 last night. Great game. The cutscenes were very long but they didn't wear on my nerves the way MGS2's did. Tonight I start RE4.

Beat RE4 last night. Um, the final boss was pretty darn easy.
What's next? *looks at games*

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I just beat Culdcept. It was an epic last battle. It lasted 103 turns, but I was finally able to break the other cepters by leveling up an entire area of cards and then getting an Old Willow to level 5. It basically trapped them in one area and forced them to lose mana like crazy to my other creatures.
Simply a great game. I want to get all the cards and medals, but paper mario 2 awaits.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I finished Sly Cooper 2: Band of Thieves the other day. (well, late at night really).
I have to agree with what others said about it, it's no Sly Cooper 1.
The best thing about it IMHO was searching for clue bottles.

Are you raiding my game shelves?
Good job on Culdcept. It's the game that keeps on giving, so keep us posted on your medal and card count. I think I only have like 15 medals, and I think about 370 cards. Still tons to do.
And Paper Mario 2 is a wonderful game. You'll dig it.
On topic: well, I beat RE4 again this past weekend. The Chicago Typewriter makes it a breeze. What a great game.

Congrats LegendaryPegasus. Make sure to return to the first map (the tiny rectangle) and keep playing a few more games... there's some secrets to gain by doing so.
