Future Tactics: The Uprising.
Extremely quick game for me. Well worth the $ 4.99 U.S. (new, mind you) I paid for it. I showed it to a couple of friends, and they really enjoyed it, too. Said that they would've paid more than the original price (it was a budget title).
It has a nice little story, unique game-play (I'd call it a strategy fps?), almost completely destructible environment, and replay value. Good show Zed Two and Crave!

Wow. I just realized that I haven't beat any games in a while. I just beat disk 1 of Final Fantasy 7. It's not the game, but it's a huge accomplishment for me. By the way, does anyone know if Pocket Kingdom is good? I think any game that speaks l337 is sw33t.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I beat Minish Cap a week ago and I got everything in it. I didn't use a faqs though except for about 7 heart container pieces. I also beat RE4 on Sunday. I agree about it being like MGS a bit too. I guess I should go back and finish Metroid Prime 2 and the Urbz...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
finally I can post in this thread. I just beat super monkeyball 2 last night. cheesy ending. I liked the mini-game you play collecting bananas while the credits roll.
next up is completion of metroid:echoes possibly followed by james bond: EoN if I ever feel like picking up the game again. I'm at the driving stage where I'm supposed to create a diversion using "one of Q's devices." God I hate pseudo puzzles...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I say dont bother with EoN. It all felt way to sloppy and uninspired to me.
Its the first game i've shelved without remorse and never looked back. I'd sell it, but i'd only get like $2 for it probably.
CRAPPY GAME!

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Now see, I think JB: EoN is a great game. I've been playing it off and on, and I probably just continue to pick too hard of a setting (actually, it's the "normal" setting called, "Agent," me thinks), otherwise I'd be further along. Then again, at least you can change the difficulty with each level...
About that level you're stuck on, there's a blue spot where after you lose the cops tail, you pull onto it. Then it'll prompt you to use that remote control device. Watching the minor cut-sequences will show you where you should drive it to create the diversion.
EDIT: D'oh! I finished The Suffering this weekend, while my grrlfriend cheered me on. I got the "good" ending, natch. *insert haloed angel smiley here*
All in all I thought it had good controls (except for the inventory thing -- changing weapons and turning the flashlight off and on were far too cumbersome), good graphics and sound (including VA), and the coolest thing of all is:
You can load your completed game for the next installment, The Suffering: The Ties That Bind, and whatever ending you got with the former title will influence the latter's story. Pretty darn sweet if you ask me.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Hey, I just beat Xenosaga Episode 1: Dur Wille Zur Macht. Sorta. Well, I played up until the Kukai foundation was attacked by the Gnosis, and then I just watched the DVD I got for preordering Xenosaga 2 the rest of the way. I beat it! Whatever! I do what I want!
Also, when can I say I beat Outrun 2?

I applaud anyone who could managed to sit through Xenosaga even half way.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I just beat Super Mario Sunshine. It was a really fun game, even if it was a little too much like Super Mario 64 (but then again what else could I expect?). I really liked the addition of FLUUD, it allowed for so many cool moves and jumps. The worst part of the of the game had to be the awful cutscenes and voice acting, luckily there wasn't many of them

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I just beat MGS3 and RE4. Both great, solid games that make you proud to be a gamer. IMO, RE4 deserves all the praise heaped on it and then some; MGS3....not so much.
I'd never realized just how horribly god-awful the camera was in MGS until they took away the radar. I was used to Snake responding like a retarded bull on tranquilizers, but the absence of the radar turned areas into this: Walk two steps, first-person, walk two steps, first-person, head-shot, rinse and repeat. Yikes.
Nevertheless, better than 99% of the games out there in terms of story and production values. Once it can make the controls fun and responsive, MGS will be unstoppable. That final battle was one of the most beautiful (albeit frustrating) fights I'd ever seen. Awesome. I'll be playing it again someday.
And RE4 simply rocks. Only complaint is that it's about 5 hours too long (just didn't know when to end!), otherwise it would've been perfect. Hats off to you, Capcom.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Beat Sid Meier's Pirates. Which I've done before, but not like this.
On Adventurer difficulty, 1600s era, beginning with the English. 126 fame points. Yup, that's everything. All nine other named pirates fought and their treasures stolen. All Cities of Gold ransacked. Beautiful wife married. Duke in all four nations. Marquis de Montelban found and defeated. Family rescued, each and every one.
Yeah, goddamn I'm happy with myself.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I just beat Half Life 2.
Amazing graphics, amazing engine, amazing weapons, amazing everything... except for the final boss battle.. or can I call it that?
Regardless, it was a wonderful experience. I can't wait to get my computer up to a higher standard so I can play the game on its hardest setting without so much jumpiness when there's too much action.
I love the storytelling in this game, though. I could sit and watch the characters talk to each other and me all day thanks to the wonderful facial expressions and voice acting. And the wonderful music makes me feel like one hardcore motherfather.

Take that, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory! With the exception of the ice world (I almost quit there), it was a pretty sweet game. I especially like how accurately they foreshadowed the sequel. Usually it's just "Good Guy sighted walking into sunset; expects 'Adventure'". It's the little touches y'know? I can't wait check out the second one.
