I just beat the soviet campain in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2. That's a sweet game. I'm working on C&C: Renegade.

I "beat" AstroBoy for the GBA, but not... er, completely. Solid game.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Ok. So I just beat beat AstroBoy completely now, and the extra parts after "beating" it were a bit of an annoyance as they involved a lot of repetition. There are certain aspects of it -- story wise -- that were done in an interesting way, but the repetition in the gameplay was a bit of a drag... though the challenge did ramp up nicely.

Also, the "fetch quest" aspects of the end (you'll know what I mean when you play it) simply do NOT work in a game like this. However, the game is still a wonder of gameplay design and is definitely worth playing again.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

In a surprise move, my dad brought back Sword of the Berserk for Dreamcast (and Actraiser! Score!)on one of my parents 6-hour+ "grocery trips". Basically, they go out around 11 am saying they're going to pick up some groceries, and come back around 7 pm with bags and crates and cartons and boxes of all manner of shit that we'll probably never eat or use. My dad bought mace this time for christ sakes.

Anyways, I'd seen my friend play it long ago, long before I even knew what Berserk was, and thought it looked boring as sin. Some knowledge of the source material goes a long way however, because I could not get enough of the game. I really need to start getting ahold of the manga series.

Boy,

Do you sleep?

P.S. How is/was Sword of the Berserk?

I try to keep my sleeping to a minimum. I consider it a waste of time.

As for SotB, it's not mindblowing, but it's fun in a "kill everything" sort of way. It's not too difficult either, so it's great for blowing off some stress once in awhile. On the downside, it's really short (like 2 hours) and unless you're familiar with the anime or manga, it's hard to give a damn about what's going on in the cutscenes.

I'd say it's a nice buy if you can find it for around 10 bucks.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Just finished "LOZ: A Link To The Past" on the GBA. Ganon's Tower at the end was fiendish, but the best dungeon is probably Turtle Rock (or maybe the Dark Palace).

That is such a fun game. I can't wait for "The Minish Cap". But if the trend in Zelda games continues, it'll probably end up having only three dungeons.

LttP: 12 dungeons
OoT: 9 (?)
WW: 6 (?)

Wind Waker is a step up IIRC. I think Majora's Mask only had 4 dungeons.

I keep meaning to ask this, but always forget.

What in the hell does "IIRC" mean?

IIRC= If I Recall Correctly

To add to this thread, I've recently beaten Final Fantasy Origins. It was a nice change of pace from the more modern squaresoft games and best of all, the lenght of the games were just right.

I'm also doind a rerun of Valkyrie Profile in hard mode. Surprisingly enough, it's easier than the normal and easy modes.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

wow its been a while since ive been here, hi everyone!

lately i finally put together a PC of my own, and the one game that ive fallen in love with is Call of Duty, when you've got a good audio setup (i have my PC hooked into my 2 stereo speakers) that game really puts out! especially durring the soviet missions, INTENSE is the best way to describe it. although its linear and i dont always like that, i can accept it in this case. boy am i looking foward to that expansion pack in a few weeks!

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

I was hoping to post here tonight saying that I finally beat Ninja Gaiden, but I am too pissed to try any more at the final stage.
I have spent the last half hour trying to make all of the platform jumps in Chapter 16. Each time I think I am almost there, I fall and have to start all over again...
Maybe tomorrow.
