Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Finally beat MGS2 the two days ago. I'd bought it for the Xbox around Xmas time, but just never got into it. Decided to sit down and really try it out, and ended up completing it in two days (uhh, just the story mode NOT all the VR stuff... ;-)).
Quick thoughts: Excellent game, controls were a little funky at first, but definitely manageable. Story was pretty interesting but kinda long winded in parts, especially at the end. I dunno, admittedly it was my first MGS game, so maybe that's how Hideo Kojima games are structured, but the (what felt like) ten minutes of cinemas followed by two minutes of gameplay followed by another ten minutes of sitting around kinda annoyed me. With that said the game was still definitely worth experiencing, and I'll definitely be playing around with this one some more.

Now go back to the first map, the tiny little rectangle, and win on it over and over to finish unlocking stuff--there's some secret battles there that I wouldn't have known about had Brad not told me. Congrats on winning!!!

Let's see, I forgot when I last posted on this thread, but I beat True Crime (PC) and Spider-Man 2 (Xbox) for work and I got the credits rolling on Burnout 2 last night after completing the second championship circuit. There's still some events left to do in Crash mode, but I won all of the championships, so I'm pretty much done with the game--I'm just redoing some single races to better my Live ranking.

Oh hey, whaddya know? I've beaten Breakdown again today. Seriously, it's got to have one of the best stories ever told in gaming. Gameplay's not too bad either. Now I'm torn between one more round of this, or getting into some Super Mario World...

Just beat Beyond Good and Evil (again). That game is just awesome.
Oh and Onimusha 2 and 3 were beaten earlier in the month.
Funny what not playing FFXI does to your gaming time..you actually get to finish them.

I just beat Kingdom Hearts. That's one of the coolest games ever for PS2. I love it, and I'm trying to get the ultimate keyblade.

Seriously?
Are you going to do a second op on it? (Yes, please.)
As for me, I've been powering down on Crono Trigger (when I can get at the consoles ). It's my grrl's son's /favorite/ game of all time, and since he's here, he's been "helping" me a bit. (Mostly, I think, he's just enjoying the hell outta watching me play -- maybe it's the reminescence factor, or maybe it's the "I've got someone else hooked on the game" factor that's driving him. Who knows.) Needless to say, we've been having a blast. Now, I've not yet beat the game, but I did get Crono's Luminaire tech and his sword Swallow before beating..
SPOILERS???
I can't remember his name, but he's in the Dark Ages on the Mountain of Woe.
END
Even though my grrl's son has gotten all 12 endings, he'd never gotten those two things as early as I had. So that's some small measure of.. completeness?
It's times like this that make me wish I didn't have to work for a living.. *le sigh*

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I beat Onimusha 3 about a week ago. Got a D grade in normal. Definitely worth a replay one day. Now I'm hoping Blood will Tell will provide oriental jollies of a comparable quality in Q4 2004.
I finished Sly Cooper today (for my son's benefit you understand)!! A fine if slightly flawed platformer with lots of charm. The last boss with its circles of rockets you had to fly through in faux 3D...Grrrrr!
Am having major trouble even getting STARTED with Resident Evil: Outbreak though. The controls are so clunky it hurts, the load times inspire me to weep, and the dialogue is bizzarely stilted. I'm a major zombie fanboy too, but even Romero fever can't help me forgive RE:O its fundamental faults.

Finally beat FF Tactics. Not sure that it was worth all the trouble now that I'm done with it...
The law system seemed like an interesting new gameplay twist at first, but by the end of the game it was getting REALLY REALLY irritating!

Beat the original Megaman just today. That big yellow bastard held me up for quite some time, I'm just glad that was the hardest part. I have nothing but admiration for those brave souls who played and beat the game on the NES with no saves and no passwords.
