Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Just finished the single player campaign in COD Modern Warfare 2.

Im not really into these military shooters. But this one was quite good. Maybe because it is very little "military" and mostly just a "shooter"

Blew through Strider 2 in 33 minutes. What a waist of a great opportunity. What could have been Strider's Symphony of the Night turned out to be shallow, short. and way too easy.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Finished Dragon Age.

I did not like the first few hours.
But after that, it was fine.

My biggest grip, is a technical issue.
I think it was a memory leak, because the game claimed more and more RAM as I continued to play.

After while, it would take several minutes to load a new area. Compared to when I first launched the client, loading screens only lasted a few seconds.

closing and re-opening the client, would fix the problem (until it slowed down again). But this is a problem I should not have had to deal with. And reading the DA forums, it seems to be a common complaint.

Odd. It uses no more than a few megs on my system and loadings take consistently no more than 10 seconds.

Finished Torchlight with my Vanquisher (or as I call her now: Bomberwoman)

Was fun for a while but at a certain point it just feels tedious and the online component is missing which gave Diablo and especially Diablo 2 legs.

Put me down for Dragon Age: Origins as well. Good fun and worthy of my time... but just once. Probably won't replay this one.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Back to back!

Finished Assassin's Creed 2 as well. Only the 4th 360 game that I have 1000/1000. Pretty easy to do.

Great game. Can't wait to see what they do with the final installment.

inFamous

My experience is probably somewhere between Brad's and the mainstream press.

I have a long list of complaints, but at the same time I was having so much fun that I couldn't put down the controller.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Gonna probably do inFamous soon as well since I'm catching up on the PS3.

Completed Borderlands. Did solo play. I'm not much for shooters but this was alot of fun.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Finished PixelJunk Shooter. Perfect length and gameplay. The latter levels are a bit tricky but never intimidating. And although the music is good, I was pleased to discover that you can select files from the system's hard drive - the in-game music automatically mutes. Fought the last boss while listening to Ben Frost's By The Throat (I'm still obsessed with this guy).

Games I should finish before Bayonetta arrives: The Last Guy, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Dragon Age: Origins, Droplitz and my
Silent Hill replay.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Last three games i finished were Condemned2, LittleBigPlanet and Uncharted 1.

Playing the demos before i was least convinced of Condemned, only bought it because i liked the first release of the series.
The story didn't totally suck but it was not particularly good and believable. But i liked the gamepaly, it was not perfectly polished but it had more diversity than Criminal Origins and i like that intense brutal hand to hand combat thing. The pacing like in almost every Monolith game was well done with a increased speed at the end.
I enjoyed it and i would recommend it.

Uncharted was solid entertaining and therefore very likeable. It didn't overdo the action and cineastic thing. The world "collapsed" a bit after the first half. It left a bit of its plausibility and felt to much of forcefully designed after a moviescript for example with the surreal candle lighted church (who was responsible for lighting them?) and enemies constantly appearing in font of you while you had to puzzle to get there. The combat itself i liked and the waves of enemies was not to stretched.
Technically i was rather annoyed by the motion unsharpness and depth of field effects, beside that, it was gorgeous. The music was good with its powerfull not overdone theme and free spirited sound coulisse.
A decent game which payed homage to Indy (even the nazi thing) included some Gears of War and of course lots of water^^.
Nothin extraordinary great but overall fine entertainment only a bit disappointing in second half for me. Fo a short game that is a bit bad.

I was really thrilled by the LBP demo, it was unbelievable cute and the prospect of hundrets of community level was exciting.
The first levels are good, the design doesn't wear of so fast, but the controls were more and more annoying. I am not much of a 2d-jnr fan, but i liked the LBP cuteness at start, but when it comes to exact jumping, it breaks the game almost the neck. I really hate it in harder sections. The loveable design rescues it and some community levels are great, you get much value out of it, but the controls are disappointing.
The editor is powerful but with a pad awkward. Would be much better if there was a pc-client to create levels.

I still like the idea behind LBP, but from my three PS3 games my opinion what will be my favorite it turned totally. Condemend i wasn't sure to buy at all, and at the end i like it most of these games. LBP fell low from my to high prejudice, Uncharted didn't really succeed in the promise the demo made.

Overall some good starters until Heavy Rain and Last Guardian (and maybe GT5 and GoW3) for which i intentionally bought the console.
