AND... Just finished Demon's Souls. What a completely awesome game. I'm still in awe. Total, total, total masterpiece.
Superb.

This one is under my radar because it is PS3. But, seeing that I will be picking the system up soon I am looking at this game. I'm seeing lots of comments about it being a very well done. However, the difficulty level sounds to be borderline frustrating. What did you think?

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I'm certainly not someone who likes difficulty just for the sake of difficulty, but i *loved* DS. for me, the bottom line of Demon's Souls is this:
it's not hard, it simply asks the player to change their mindset and approach the game on its own terms.
it is NOT a standard action-RPG or action game. moment-to-moment strategy is a must. know when to retreat. keep your guard up at all times. master the combat system - button mashing NEVER works.
basically: play the game as cautiously as if it were ACTUALLY YOU and not a character, and you'll be just fine.

Been playing a ton of OLD games lately. Recently finished Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. What a classic game!

Just finished my 2nd complete playthrough of Demon's Souls... the last time I played a game over again after finishing it was probably the NES era.
It's good.

Castlevania PoR
Im not sure if this counts or not. But I finished Castlevania Portrait of Ruin [DS].
Im hesitant to call it finished, because I did not beat dracula. In fact, I did not defeat the main villain of the game (not dracula). This is because unless you find a secret item hidden in the game, and use it on what appears to be the final boss, you can not unlock the extended ending.
The game did end, after I defeat what appeared to be the final boss. But looking online, I now know there is an entire back portion that I missed out on, including the real boss.

Just beat Lost Winds 2: Winter of Melodias for WiiWare. Overall, love the game. Enjoy the new moves, the change of seasons is cleverly used, and the scenery is amazing. However, there are a few tedious parts. Also, accidently pressed the A button in the middle of the final boss battle right when Enril was saying something important and spent the next 15 minutes trying to figure out what to do before breaking down and looking up the solution.
Still, a great download. Go. Download it now!

I wouldn't quite call it "beaten" but i'm about 2/3 of the way through Hell or Hell mode on Devil May Cry 4. And my god its kicking the crap out of me. Having Super-Nero/Dante makes no difference at all, even while permanantly in Devil Trigger mode some of the bosses are a nightmare. And those damned Electric Enemies. Booooo

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I finished the first Uncharted. It was not at all ground-breaking, but a lot of fun.
I liked the setting. The shooting mechanics were good, but the hand-to-hand combat sucked. Hopefully they made improvements in the sequel.
I am defiantly picking up part 2, but it is not on the top of my list to buy. I am really interested in the online component.

Just finished Half-Minute Hero on PSP. What a total triumph of design over technology. LOVED it.
Review's in the can.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Finished Modern Warfare 2. I meant to see how long it took me to complete. I would guess around 6 hours on regular difficulty. I will play it again on the harder difficulty settings.
PROS: Great action that keeps you on the edge of the seat the whole way through. MW2 is 3 games in one: campaign, spec ops, and multiplayer.
CONS: Short length. Some of the background elements (graphics on emergency vehicles for example) are pixelated even from a distance.
WTF: Why does your player have glass eyes and why does he always have strawberry jam thrown at him when ever he gets hurt.

Finished Max Payne 2 after a good while. The gunplay in this one hasn't aged well... but I still dig its style and atmosphere.
