Re: New People, Please Introduce Yourselves
Hey all, I'm Scott aka Diztructor (PSN ID) feel free to add me all are welcome! I'm from the UK, I am a self employed computer engineer and web designer. I got 2 great little boys who love coming to visit and playing on my PS, my eldest fave games are: LP:EC, LittleBig Planet, MW2, WWE SvR 08 and all the Lego games. While the youngest is just happy with LittleBig Planet, Lego Batman and Eye Pet, lol.
As for me, well I'm just game mad and have been for 25 years, so I wont bother listing mine here.
I look forward to having a great time in this community and hope to post my input where required, till I see you here or on PSN, TTFN.

Re: New People, Please Introduce Yourselves
I stumbled on the podcast a little while ago and am making my way through all the back episodes. After the repeated plugs for the quality of the forums, I figured it was time to check them out.
I'm a 40+ gamer who started playing games on homemade computers (Adventure!), VIC 20s, TRS-80s and Commodores. I got my first taste of programming with BASIC on TRS-80s (no kidding, I was walking a mile through the snow to get to the school computer, and spent the nights at home feverishly reading programming books).
As a result of this early corruption, I'm now a Senior Engineering Manager in Silicon Valley.
While I've always been a game player, left to my own devices I get obsessed with creating the thing I'm interested in, and I spent much of a decade doing amateur game development as a hobby. After not much response, I created a quite popular game on the site I was a part of, but I found that obsessive game development was detrimental to my job. In short, it turned me into a lousy manager.
So now I'm back to just gaming (at least until I retire!), and I'm intentionally using gaming as a hobby that allows me to relax and get my mind off work but that doesn't take over my brain and make me a bad boss (well, except for that stint as an Everquest guild leader in the early EQ days...)
So now I've confessed (some of) my sins...on to the forums!

Hi -
I too stumbled on your podcast and its a keeper. (there are so many podcasts that aren't keepers) thanks.
Long-term PC gamer and recent 360 gamer and minor PSP gamer. And have been using steam and gog and xbl sales to increase my gaming breadth.

Re: New People, Please Introduce Yourselves
Well I head about this site from another site. I am taking Advertising at Humber College. I am looking at getting into the sales side, so I would be selling in-game ads. I also play games of course, so I have decided to start writing about them.

Re: New People, Please Introduce Yourselves
Hello! I'm A.J., I live in Eden Prairie, MN (a suburb of Minneapolis), and I'm currently taking a break from my I.T. career to pursue a little landscaping (in other words, I got laid off and took what I could get - hey, I'm in the best shape of my life, I can't complain).
I've been reading this website for a few weeks now, and I find myself coming back constantly. It started with my obsession with Mass Effect and the sheer amount of opinion content here, but I started to see there was an amazing amount of very insightful editorial here compared to most gaming sites. Joining the forums seemed like a good idea.
I've done a small amount of work in the gaming industry. Specifically as a consultant for EA/Tiburon on Madden NFL 10 (and by extension NCAA 11) and Madden NFL 11 due to my background as a football coach, but my passion lies in WRPGs.
My "dream game" is a video game remake of the DLx "Classics" series based on the Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy, preferably made in the Dragon Age style by Bioware.

Hi! My name is Maureen, but everyone calls me Mo. I am pretty new to the PC game world, but I am hooked. I figured I'd come and join you fine folks to get pointers, learn about new games, and just suck up everything I can learn.

What would you say is different from the DL stuff vs Dragon Age?

Re: New People, Please Introduce Yourselves
Hello --
My name is Alex. I'm a social worker living in the southeastern U.S.
I've been playing games a while now; I think I had a controller in my hand when I was born. My main system is Xbox 360, but I have all current platforms (except for PSP.) I'm a completionist, so I spend a lot of time 100%ing some pretty awful games.
