Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Congrats! I thought the ending was a little weak too - I was geared up for the mother of all battles, and then....
I finished Quantum Conundrum, a Portal-like puzzle game where you progress through a series of puzzles connected by corridors. The gimmick is that as well as being a puzzle game, it's a platformer, and sometimes a quite hard one.
You have access (eventually) to four powers - reverse gravity, make everything feather-light, slow down time, and make everything iron-heavy. These combine into a series of sometimes-fiendish puzzles, and lots of madcap platforming - for example you can make a safe light, throw that safe in the air, slow down time, clamber aboard the safe, unpause time and sail over a bunch of obstacles unharmed. Ingenious really. Some of the platforming is inspired, some is annoying (all done in first-person too).
I started off not liking it at all but it really grew on me as I progressed.

really want to give Quantum Conundrum a try- and I say this as someone who believes that Portal was vastly overrated. QC at least doesn't look as sterile. I know, glados was brilliant and had tons of personality and I want to marry her as much as everyone else, but she was the only thing about the game that did have personality. I'll keep an eye out for QC in the sales, I think.

It's a good game but I couldn't wholeheartedly recommend it at full price (I got it free). It's a game that creeps up on you, keeps you going back for one more go. But it has issues, no doubt.

And entirely coincidentally I was just checking what Gamefly's deals were this weekend and:
http://www.gamefly.co.uk/Download-Qu...ndrum/5004189/
PC version though, registers on Steam. The PC key layout (can see them in my screenshot) looks mad awkward, remember as well as pressing those you have to jump and change direction a lot too. Possibly better suited to console but at this price...

Finished Bioshock Infinite
Really bothers by what a waste of potential this game is. It has a lot going for it, but ultimately fell flat. The ending was cheap.
Once the hype wears off I think people will come to realize that Bioshock Infinite isn't that good of a game.

Red Dead Redemption
I think this is one of the best games of this generation. There is so much about it that is done well - the setting, the story, the characters - and the dialogue is undoubtedly the best dialogue ever written for a videogame.
The gameplay - well, it's ok. It definitely takes second place to everything else, but it is at worst passable and is possibly excellent if aim assist is turned off.
I guess it is a game where the cinematic aspects triumph over everything else, but they've done a great job.
This time around, Mexico didn't drag at all, but the Back on the Ranch stuff did a little. However, the ending was delivered with panache and knowing what was going to happen made the scenes leading up to the end resonate a lot more.

You forgot Nigel West Dickens. He's worth playing it alone.
I agree. Probably my favourite game this gen, to the extent I'm gonna buy the complete edition thing just for zombies and hardcore mode.

Red Dead is a game that I really want to play over again. In my top 10 of this generation.
I am sure we'll have a top ten of this generation on this forum soon since the next gen is on the horizon.

Great idea. Someone, do this!
All I can say for sure is that RRR and Spec Ops:The Line would be in my top five, but it's a difficult one for me this gen. As an Xbox owner and RPG and Platformer fan, my needs have not been catered for, despite the high quality of ever other genre this gen.

I would wholeheartedly recommend a second playthrough of RDR, if you have the time. I had previously dismissed the zombie add ons, but if there is a second campaign with John Marston in it, I may give it a go.
