hey guys! as you know there is a crossbow in the game... heres watyou dont know : The crossbow has special skills. it is able to kill a mountain lion in 3 hits and a bear in 4 or 5. also if you miss in a hunt you get a second chance since the animals cant hear the bow

I suggest backing up as far as you can so they can't kill you then shoot them with any type of shot gun.

basically your game is glitching, what you can do is wait till the last moment then sprint to the left or right (depending on direction of attack) then turn and shoot the head with the shotgun
