Re: Grand Slam Tennis Tips FAQ Help Tricks Hints Cheat Codes Strategy Guide

This isn't much of a trick or hint, but some practical advice about the hardware...

Since the Wii MotionPlus is constantly reconfiguring the registration of the wiimote during the game, it is paramount that after each point during the replay/reset of players, you hold the wiimote still in a flat/level manner pointing toward your screen to assure it hasn't reconfigured the position of the wiimote incorrectly. This will make sure that during your next return, your character will swing on the same side that you wish him or her to.

I found myself winning a lot more when I wasn't flailing my arms in disgust after losing a point and figured out why soon after.

Thumbs down GST Online Cheaters

I found this board looking for some of the same answers as to why certain players in GST online are so ridiculously modified that it is impossible to win a single point against them. I finally had enough of the BS and shut down my Wii after it became unquestionable to me that my opponent was using cheats in just the first 2 points of the match. On the first point I served and then hit a drop shot that literally bounced 3 times..and then all of a sudden the ball just appeared out of no where behind me and landed in bounds. On the second point, my opponent hit his return directly into the net but then was able to hit it a second time and the ball again just appeared over my head and landed in bounds. Both points should have absolutely been mine, but were instead credited to my opponent. On several other occassions, I have driven opponents all the way to one side of the court only to see them miraculously appear out of no where on the opposite side of the court to return my cross court shot that should have been unreachable.

It is dissapointing to me that EA allows this to happen in the online mode. GST is such a fun game to play and I was really hoping that the online experience would be challenging and most importantly FAIR. The use of cheats or modifactions ruins the experience for those of us who want to win on our own merits - not on some illegal trick we learned to game the system. What is the fun in winning every single point, particularly the ones that you know really should have lost?

Re: Grand Slam Tennis Tips FAQ Help Tricks Hints Cheat Codes Strategy Guide

The fact that some players are using some kind of cheat to enable them to win the point even if a good return is made is really putting me off now playing online. I have spent time building up 1574 points only to keep coming up against players who are cheating. I have reported via EA messenger but more and more players are using this cheat. Every time i come up against a high ranking Japanese player i know they will be using this cheat!!!
EA need to do something about this ASAP!!

Re: Grand Slam Tennis Tips FAQ Help Tricks Hints Cheat Codes Strategy Guide

I played two cheaters today. One cheated as others on this post have described, where a returned shot would land in the middle of the court and my opponent would get credited with a point, even though they didn't return the ball.

The other cheater today somehow could make all of my serves into faults. Every one of my first serves would be a fault (my opponent wouldn't even budge), even though the crowd would cheer as if it were an ace. The only time my serve wasn't a fault was when my serve was slow.

Both of these cheaters were ranked in the top 100. I reported them both as cheaters, but I don't want EA to think that I am sour for losing to top ranked people. I don't care if I lose to a person because they are better than me, but when they are cheating...

Talking **how to counter people who use the serve cheat**

So it seems like a lot of people are annoyed how some players are able to cheat on their serve and win every point automatically, regardless of whether your return is going in or out. Today I picked up on something which led to me discovering how to counter this spineless cheat.

While playing against someone from England I noticed that there were times when he would make a serve clearly in, but it would be called out. Based on this I guessed that when someone uses this cheat, if the serve is not returned the serve will be called a fault, regardless of where it lands. Turns out I was right!

Keep in mind this guy was using the serve cheat on literally every point of his serve, so I was confident that I could use this strategy and win the match in a tiebreaker. And sure enough, at 3-2 in the breaker, I purposely let his serve (created character with roddick's serve) go past me both times, and he double faulted. Although he picked up on this and stopped using the cheat, one mini-break was all I needed in the tiebreaker to win the match.

Hope this helps some of you out.

These people are killing the game for me, i just played a japanese guy, and when i returned his serve he just left it and i won the point, but when i won the game, it came up as him winning the game, so amazingly i won 3 games to love but it ended up me losing 3 games to love, even though he did nothing at all, this is ridiculous.

Cheers to you all for this thread. Now I knowI'm not crazy.
Its time we started listing these weak A holes. NAME AND SHAME!!!
USA- ImSoStoned is todays first.
Will update this when more encountered. Have run into several. Would be useful if there was an option to play in own country too as lag seems much less an issue.
For a true game look for "SayHiToYaMom" or "Shanosan". Both from Australia.
.......Anyone for tennis??

I'm all for it: "name and shame." Allows me to disconnect as soon as I see their personas. I too have been getting these "cheats" which I first thought were online glitches until they began to occur too regularly. Annoying. I also find annoying people who lob constantly no matter what's going on. I've began to disconnect when I encounter them. No fun. I see this mostly with people who play the Serena Williams character. Wouldn't happen in real tennis except for the really low level players I suppose.

Re: Grand Slam Tennis Tips FAQ Help Tricks Hints Cheat Codes Strategy Guide

Hi everyone...

I read all the comments posted before my own and have noticed many people think that people they play online are cheating because they are getting to every ball... I have a theory...

Maybe all of your opponents have a better internet connection than yours and your internet connection could be freezing for that brief moment where your opponent could actually be running for the ball...

Hi!

I love this Grand Slam Tennis, but the programmers made an hell of an error in the online section.

1. You should only meet noobs if you are a noob.
2. Some players connections are so bad that it feels like the have rocket shoes, when they catch the ball.
3. I called EA hotline and they have no cheaters they say.

To beat serve and volley, you need to read his serve and hit hard back so he has to dive, or hit it back with slice or lob. After either one, attack the net and put in a hard volley or slice drop shot. That is how I beat serve and volley.

if anyone wants to play a good game of tennis please add me as a buddy

SuperSwede is my nickname

Regards,

Rob

It's not like that. I have a really good connection and today I played against a cheater. Despite the response to his (strangely) fast service was in, it was meant as out.
So... there are cheaters.

Re: Grand Slam Tennis Tips FAQ Help Tricks Hints Cheat Codes Strategy Guide

I don't even want to play online anymore. What's the point? Every other ranked person i play seems to get credit for points I clearly won. What fun is it to try to beat a cheater by just standing there? Obviously the ranks don't mean anything. I wonder what the satisfaction is for them....WOW! I'm the best at punching in a cheat code! Lame. They obviously have small private parts.

But I do have one question. Is it just me or do some players hit WAY harder than others? I understand the whole 5 star thing mixed with certain players gold abilities but I have played some opponents on line that hit the ball so fast that even Roger Federer can't get to it in time! My created character has all abilities and 5 stars but still doesn't even compare to the speed of some players.

How do you abandon play without switching off the Wii? None of my controls respond once the match has started...I now stop the game as soon as I notice a blatant cheat from my adversary. Last night against a Japanese player same kind of stuff: I returned his big serve with a very fast forehand which he didn't even touch, and which clearly landed in his court, but he got the point. I disconnected immediately, but find it a pain to always reboot the Wii because of these cheaters.
