Well, that was interesting. I have to say, I've always had a sort of respect for Boy. I thank you for providing me hours of entertainment trying to figure out what the hell your avitar is.

It's the boy main character from Legend of Mana for the PS1. His clothes are kind of eating him though.

Just beat Final Fantasy 7. Well, almost. I didn't actually beat Sephiroth, but my guys are good enoguh to tear him to pecies any time I feel like. Which is now. Good-bye.

Just beat PNO3. Simple, addictive, and incredibly repetitive. It's definitely an old school concept with a new-fangled look. Still, would it have killed Capcom to pretty up the environments? Sterile white room followed by sterile white room followed by brown dusty outside followed by brown dusty outside followed by sterile white room. Memorizing the level setups is a necessity though, so I'm not sure if the repetition is good or bad. Capcom could've thrown in some mirror levels or (godforbid) some colors though. Oh, and cool boss fights. Now time to go back through the game and open up the thong suit!

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Beat Y's: The Ark of Napishtim last night. Or rather, early this morning. Anyways, it's sweet stuff. Illusion of Gaia for the PS2 generation kinda. I'm pretty surprised no one is talking about it here.

The story is pretty crappy though. I thought doomsday weather control machines were left to mad scientists, not ancient deities. And the voice overs, my god. They're not so bad as to be funny. Just annoying. The thing is that they're so inconsistent. All the important NPCs sound pretty bad, but the various townsfolk tend to turn in a decent performance. It's like Konami had their priorities mixed up or something.

Anyways, that stuff isn't important. It's the gameplay, which is simple, old-school, and fun. I'm about to start up a new game on Hard mode today.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Took out Metroid: Zero Mission. And before you're all like "WOWZERS CRAZY FASTNESS" I've been like 10 minutes from the end for about 2 weeks now. I used to save it for breaks at work, but lately my breaks have been occupied by doing crap, so I decided to just go ahead and finish it. It took me 5 hours, and I had 69% of the items. What's funny is after "the suprise", going back to normal play seemed boring.

No Boy, I shant not say WOWZERS that you finished yet another game; however, I will say WOWZERS, OMFG, YOU ACTUALLY HAVE A JOB!?!

Seriously, I thought with all the many games you play to completion, you must be some ultra-rich mancub able to subsist on hot pockets and two hours of sleep a night alone.

That was a good guess, Hypatia.

I figured he was some Mackauley Caulkin-esque "Home Alone" kid. The only difference is, I figured that Boy's parents never came back from Europe and instead just sent him money for games and food every 2 weeks.

You're actually kinda close Enduro. For the longest time, up until a couple years ago in fact, my parents basically let me do anything, and bought me lots of games. Like, five for birthdays, more for christmas. They might as well have been in Europe. It was crazy.

Once I got out of school they were all like "GET A JOB AND GO TO COLLEGE MAGGOT! DON'T EXPECT ANY HELP FROM US, YOU LEECH!" and now I'm lucky if I get more than 1 game on my B-day, and then it's usually used. It was quite a jarring shift, I can tell you.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Just finished Wario Ware: Touched.
It's ok, but it pales far, far in comparison to the original. Seems easier too.

Its best moments are when it gets all meta -- like the one game that requires you to hit a button on the GBA on the screen so that you can win at the Wario Ware game that its playing. That's genius! The rest of it... not so much.

Yeah, I just beat Warioware: Touched! today as well. Dunno about finished, as I intend to screw with it for quite a bit more time. It's really at it's best when it's going really super fast. Otherwise it's kind of easy.

They overdid the "touch" angle. Would it have hurt anyone to put in a few games that utilize the buttons?

The best part of the game though, is the "toys". Me and a friend played Ping Pong on break today and it was freakin' sweet, and I'm mildly obsessed with Juggle Boy. Thumbs up.

Ok, Y's: Ark of Napishtim on hard is done. I think I'm gonna take a raincheck on that nightmare run-through because I can no longer resist the siren call of the other unfinished games on my shelf.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

I just beat the arcade Capcom vs. X-Men game. I suck so bad at these -- only reason I managed to beat it is that I managed to set the game to "normal" instead of "expert" and I played the whole way through with the unoriginal Ryu+Ken combo. But hey, these are the only characters I "know".

Might as well also add SEGA Rally 2. I've beaten the Championship with two cars, but I'm having a hell of a time beating it with the Ford Focus. I was about two seconds short in one go :\ God damned Snow Stage kills me everytime.

I just beat Victorious Boxers.

Brilliant boxing game. Even though the translation in the narrative is awful, I still liked how they amped up the story in the last chapter, I loved knockin out that douche Ralph Anderson.
