Re: Capcom Fighting Evolution- what a piece of shit.

Lately, Capcom have been lazy with their "vs" games - reusing sprites is just bloody annoying to look at.

Hopefully, when Sammy makes their Sammy vs Capcom, we'll finally see Ryu and co. in high...

I thought I've seen them lurking in ebay...

Re: Favorite Game Music?

Game music? Too many...
Alot of JRPG songs have been up there on my list (I'm a big fan of buying JRPG OSTs), but lately, the Silent Hill OSTs are getting played alot more, especially 3 and 4.

Re: KOF or Guilty Gear X2?

2000 will always be the best SNK, as I personally don't think Eolith has matched SNK's old team. Yet 2003 is damn close.

Asking whether KoF is better than GG is all a matter of opinion, and will...

Re: Killzone First Impressions

I like the aesthetics you mentioned, especially compared to the plastic environments of Halo and co.
But I'd have to agree. They set out to be Halo PS2, yet from the recent media on this game, it...

Re: lack of new fighting games?

I guess developers are afraid to make new fighting games.
The last new 3D fighters I remember were Tao Feng and Kakuto Chojin. The last new 2D fighter was Rumble Fish.
And they were all mediocre....

Re: Beauti -- er... Viewtiful Joe gets animated in Japan

It would be nice if it retained the cel-shaded look (aka, a colorful version of Kai Doh Maru).

But then again, if they are gonna be making 52 episodes, a week is too short a time to implement...

Re: A soundtrack gets its due

hey, Enduro, does the guide include SF3 info?
...might consider it since it has another OST with it.

Re: so about that game fable....

I thought that Fable could be the game to stop my Panzer Dragoon Orta exclusivity of the XBox, but this may not be so...

I guess I'll still be using the XBox for only one game...

Good reviews,...

Re: New Review Posted: Crimson Sea 2

Well written.
Nice that you gave mention to the character designs, as they are well done.
The artist, Shishizaru (http://www.hcn.zaq.ne.jp/shishizaru/) (I'm guessing, since he was the one that did...

Re: What racing titles are you playing/looking forward to?

Not the biggest of racing games/sims, but I'd have to vote OutRun2.
Just because it's the last arcade racing game I played recently.

Re: Best 2D fighters on Dreamcast?

Besides jdingo's lack of affinity towards GGX, I'm surprised to see a DC 2D fighters thread without a mention of GGX.
In my opinion, it was a serious inclusion into the DC's best of 2D fighters...

Re: Finally... Ikaruga

No, not in one credit.
Don't elevate me so. I guess I didn't word it correctly.
I didn't find finishing the game easy, I haven't done that yet. My comments relate to the actual gameplay, which is...

Re: Finally... Ikaruga

Thanks legendarypegasu.
With regards to Gradius V, I read in Edge's E3 special that Treasure is developing this game.
Was the Gradius series any good in relation to the greats of this genre?

Re: Logitech 2.4 GHz Cordless Action Controller for PS2

Do gamers really need wireless controllers?
I haven't had any trouble over the leads of my console controllers. What temptation do these preripherals have over gamers?

Are they a necessity or a...

Finally... Ikaruga

This conclusion from Mike Bracken's review enticed me to consider buying the game, even though I was not a fan of 2D shooters. I've only recently got into 3D shooters with the likes of Rez and PDO.

Re: Sudeki: Hoping for the best, expecting the worst

I never "hoped for the best" as the title of this thread states.

As soon as I saw the character designs of Sudeki, and that a western company is trying to emulate JRPG, I re-iterated Havblue's...

Re: Hironobu Sakaguchi Making a Comeback

From your description, Hypatia93, Sakaguchi has not really "made" an FF game successful. It is basically the efforts of Kitase, Uematsu, Nomura and all of production studio 1 that have claimed...

Re: Hironobu Sakaguchi Making a Comeback

I don't think Sakaguchi has technically been involved development-wise and creative-wise on an FF since FFV? (Someone can confirm this?)

The director of FF6-8, 10 and 10-2 was Kitase, with FF9...

Re: What are your favorite character designs?

Any character designed by Hyung Tae Kim (Magna Carta, War of Genesis 3 etc.). The colours and beauty in this guy's designs are sweet, and are often simplified on translation to CG. When designs a...

PSP = multilingual translator

This is quite an orignal idea, seeing as this is portable, it could be used on overseas travel beside the typical "gaming-cause-I'm-bored" situation....

Re: Non-Final Fantasy Square Games

woah...
To each, his own.

But unfortunately, this is true. The gem is yet to appear, which most likely could be Vagrant Story's Matsuno's FF vehicle - XII.

Re: Non-Final Fantasy Square Games

Yeah, the whole Saga series (Romancing, Frontier and Unlimited) are all pretty lame in comparisons to Square's other efforts. The music in all those games are probably their only saving grace.

I...
