Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

I have beaten Max Payne on the X-Box. I enjoyed the noir story, and Payne's quick, monotone delivery was perfect; it was like Mike Hammer come to life.

The ending was exactly what it should have...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Beat the original Max Payne for X-Box last night. I played on hard-boiled mode, and I found that while it was enjoyable, the game was just too easy. I'm no fps guru, but I whizzed through the game...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

I have defeated Icewind Dale and its expansion Heart of Winter. I did this with a human necromancer, a ˝-elven cleric, and four fighters, three of which were dual-classed at 9th level into a...

Re: Do Video Games Make You Smarter?

You know, actually, when I mentioned the human interaction, I wasn't talking about online games; I was talking about having people over and playing multiplayer with people actually physically in the...

Re: Do Video Games Make You Smarter?

I have plenty of other thoughts, but I am not afraid to make a long post. However, I do not have the capacity to be complex, nor in any way interesting. I am indeed a blank space, a holder for those...

Re: Superman Returns... as this?

I personally would pay to see a Superman movie with the evil Superman from the second movie versus Henry Rollins from the "Liar" video.

They would, of course, make a video game from this movie,...

Re: ESPN Greatest 25 Records

You know, I was watching the 25 best blunders last night on ESPN Classics at about 4 am, thanks to insomnia, and I was wondering, maybe someone could tell me: When the hell did ESPN turn into some...

Re: Calling all bunny lovers, Save Toby!

What I find grimly amusing about this is the level of dedication that people really do give animals, and how far more attention is given to mistreated animals than mistreated children. Of course, I...

Re: What's Happening in your Gaming Life?

Metal Slug 3

I thought I knew hardship. I thought I knew suffering. Then I played Mission Five, and oh, the pain, oh, the agony...

Yes, Mission Five, or as I like to call it, Purgatory, will...

Re: He Should have Waited...

You know, I saw that as well, felt bad, and then thought...why didn't he just learn braille?

Or what if they made a new version of this episode, like on Showtime or some other quality channel,...

Re: What are some good, quick books?

How about Spider Robinson's Callahan's Crosstime Saloon series of books? Bad puns and light-hearted, gentle humor make for a very quick (and good) read indeed.

The first few Xanth novels by Piers...

Re: Question & Answer

I’m glad you asked that question. You’d be surprised at the kind of fun we're having on this side of the road, the one opposite the one you’re currently at. Trees emit candy, not oxygen, here. Cars...

Thanks, and I do feel your pain. Children are a blessing, but teenagers...eventually become bitter, vindictive and old, aka worth knowing. [By teenagers, I mean emotionally immature; I've known 17...

Re: All Ages Shows: yay or nay?

Were I, hypothetically, to attend a club event replete with all ages access, I would find myself in a quandary, indeed. I, a strapping young man of 30, would be adrift in a sea of young’ns, bereft of...

Re: Missing Sequels and Other Voids in the Gaming Library

I would personally like to see a sequel to the Atari 2600 game Raiders of the Lost Ark. I have often wondered what the pedestal Indy was raised on was composed of, and why unbreakable blocks would...

Re: New Review Posted: KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords

I have been playing KOTOR II for about 22 hours now, and I am enjoying it immensely. Not for the combat, which can be frustrating in its jerkiness and muddled quality; not for the graphics, which are...

Re: What's the computer RPG for the PS2?

For what it's worth, there's also an older (released in 12/01) PS2 game called Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land. It's not a port of a specific PC Wizardry game, but it plays very much like the...

Re: What old game should be redone?

How about Shadow of the Beast? Kick-ass game for the Amiga, would love to see a new version of it, though the end boss would have to be just as large as the original.

I'd love to see a re-make of...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

I beat Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura for the PC last night. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the ending, though I did enjoy the story. This was one of the more frustrating games I’ve played;...

Atari 2600: Raiders of the Lost Ark. For some reason, I liked the Atari version of the Indiana Jones theme almost as much as the original.
