Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

Sajon -

The narrative (overall game experience as told by the game) is the combination of your "duality". Kojima said that he's kept the gameplay "2D" because he never really understood how to...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

What do you guys think of the new camera? It's quite the same (dramatic) even though it's quite different (dynamic).

And

The... dramatic nature and its effect on the narrative seems to bring...

S-Video

My new place is a lot smaller than my old place. Well, the place is bigger, but my room is smaller. I used to have two desks in my room, a little living area, a fridge, a bar, and some space to be...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

Thanks, Boy. I appreciate that.

I really tried ignoring these comments and presenting my points, but I suppose if the jerks are going to concede that my points may be valid and still completely...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

He LOST HIS JOB over them.

How do you MAKE MONEY when you LOSE YOUR JOB?

Please, this is becoming ridiculous. I've said these things over and over.

All I'm saying is that this is possible. ...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

I think the last argument was pretty clear. Essentially it's this: Mikami is not making money off of making games on the Gamecube, but he still insists on making them for the Gamecube. This is very...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

Have you ever done critical analysis of anything? Literature, movies, music? This isn't a science fair project. Everything is open to interpretation. Anything viable is fair game. There are no...

Re: The Evil Mac

Thanks, man. Those links helped a bunch. Especially that last one. Those visual styles don't slow down the PC at all (they just replace windows' own frontend). I'm not sure how much I'm down...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

I think the term is bucking, but yes, it would have been nice. BUT. It was mostly the old REs and PN03 that sold underexpectations. I'm not sure about K7, but VJ and RE4 both sold quite nicely.

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

Are you joking? What kind of evidence do you want? A press release?

"Hi, this is Mr. Mikami. He wants you to know that he is not intending for any of you to buy his game. He is infuriated that...

The Evil Mac

The Evil iMac (http://404error.95mb.com/evilimac.html)

I didn't do it. I don't even care to do it. But I'm fascinated by one aspect of it:I really want to have a Mac-looking frontend. I know a...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

No company would make games that don't make money. Mikami pushed for the RE series on the Gamecube, this is tricky business.

The RE series (REmake, Zero, and the 3 ports) bombs commercially. ...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

No company, indeed. Mikami pushed for it for reasons other than money. That's why they made Mikami step down from his leadership position.

Also: Sajon - this thread would be more about Resident...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

Are you just being difficult or do you not understand the sentence you quoted?

I'll quote myself:

Are you being intentionally difficult or does this not make sense to you?

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

I never said duality. You said duality. Are you retarded? Stop putting words in my mouth and actually read. You already wasted your time with Ludology (which is a complete waste of time, btw). ...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

Sajon, I'm absolutely bewildered by your last post as to why you do not like Resident Evil.

Look at it this way -:-:->

4 is an attempt to reconcile the original concept of Resident Evil. ...

If his...

All of this was, you know, labelled as the connection. Good job you guys. You know. Reading. Also, find a script and you'll see entire portions of dialogue referencing MGS2. I'd say the...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

I've written quite a bit that nobody seems to, you know, actually read. I've even labelled the connection I found between the two. Mikami makes many, many references to the MGS series in RE4.

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

The entire critique that you pretend exists is, at best, a complete afterthought. Anno just explored what it'd be like sticking a teenager that didn't think controlling robots was cool in a giant...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

I told you, I'm pretentious as hell. When I make arguments, that's just what happens. And yeah, I'm vague as hell sometimes, that's why I write involved diatribes about it.

Also Sajon,...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

Ok, let's pull the reigns in here, folks.

THE HISTORY OF RESIDENT EVIL

Mikami developed shitty games for a long time. For 5 maybe 6 years. He was inspired by two things: Sweet Home (NES) and...

Re: Resident Evil 5 Announced

Mikami didn't look to Alone in the Dark to make the Resident Evil series. He wanted to make a game based on emotion (which not many games had done) and he wanted to make it cinematic (which he did...

(Oh god, I totally just made my first absolutely sarcastic response... I hate postmodernism...)

Btw, I...
