Re: What are you looking forward to in 2012?

The only game I'm looking forward to is Persona 5. Not sure if it'll get released in 2012, though.

A sequel to SMT: Nocturne would be nice too.

Re: 2011 Community GOTY

My GOTY is Rayman Origins

The art style is amazing, as is the quality of the animation; it's got the best soundtrack in any game this year; level design is varied and engaging; gameplay is solid...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

I think Sonic really jumped the shark with Sonic 2006. Sonic Adventure was very rough around the edges, but at least it laid the ground for Sonic Adventure 2, which was great for the most part.

Sonic Adventure

It had been years since I played it, but this game defined my childhood; I thought it was very good when I was younger. Playing it now, it's an absurdly awful mess, riddled with...

Re: Shadows of the Damned

I played through the game twice, and it's pretty good, but I was expecting a bit more from the story; unfortunately, there's no real sense of build-up to the final boss fight, and Garcia's...

Re: Please Rate This Review: Sonic Colors

Great review. It is well-written, well-informed and well-structured.

You clearly know what you're talking about, and your review encompasses my own feelings about this game perfectly; finally a...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

I read reviews for the sake of being informed and getting to know the opinion of others, but they do not influence my choice very much. Games with no redeemable value win countless awards, while...

Re: LA Noire review

It has a shooting system that is clunkier than Grand Theft Auto? How is this even possible?

It blurs the line between video games and cinema? How is that a good thing?

Still, I like the...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Thank you, that's exactly what I meant. I have the tendency to expect more from video games than mere entertainment, and shoveling through the mud in search of hidden gems has been getting very...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Fragile Dreams - Farewell Ruins of the Moon

I was expecting a broken game with a good, emotional story and great atmosphere, like Nier or Deadly Premonition. I can be very forgiving toward...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Portal 2

I got through both the solo campaign and the coop in one three day rental. A very short game really, and with no replay value whatsoever.

However, it is pretty entertaining for the...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Vanquish

It was a very good experience for me. I was feeling up to the challenge, so I tried Hard mode right away, and found a game that's deep, exciting and tough-as-nails (124 total deaths in a...

Re: Human Revolution

Ouch!

I'm just saying the black and gold color palette of Deus Ex 3 might get old after a while... Also, the characters look like dead fish when they talk. At least, that's the impression I get...

Re: Human Revolution

You should know that Square Enix is only publishing the game; Eidos Montreal is the company developing it.

Nier was a game published by Square Enix and developed by (sadly, the now disbanded)...

Re: Guilt: Getting Rid of Games Everyone Loves

I do think it's weird you felt guilt for selling games you didn't even like.

I know I was very happy and relieved when I sold GTA4, Fallout 3, Gears of War and the like... Uninspired pieces of...

Re: Last game you should have just rented??

Marvel vs Capcom 3

I hate myself for buying this... What was I thinking? I think Amateratsu lured me into it...

Anyway, to make a long story short, this game is annoyingly juvenile, has no...

Re: Catherine Release Date, Trailers, Screenshots, News, Gameplay Previews

I'm very interested in this game too.

Looking back at Atlus' previous games (Persona, Digital Devil Saga), I think it's safe to say that the relationships, dialogue and story will be the best...

Re: PS3 Mass Effect 2

From my experience, you are not missing anything. Mass Effect is a bland pastiche of a third-person shooter, with under-cooked RPG elements only there to make up for the lack of a solid gameplay...

Re: Needing Approval to Post

I'm with Pedro on that one. I think this approval-to-post measure will only slow the forum down and be a burden for active discussions.

Also, I'm the kind of person who compulsively reads his...

Re: The Best, Worst, and Everything Else of 2010

@ Pedro

I feel the same way about Deadly Premonition. I was really sad it had to end, and I'm beginning to grow very nostalgic of York and his investigation. Still, the ending feels very...

Re: The Best, Worst, and Everything Else of 2010

1. Deadly Premonition (GOTY)

This is an obvious choice. DP had me reconsidering how I view video games as a medium, and it helped me grow as a person, much like a good novel or a good film; this...

Re: Deadly Premonition

Don't worry, the QTEs do not get harder if you up the game's difficulty, but the zombies will absorb even more bullets before dying, and they'll deal more damage. You shouldn't have trouble beating...

Re: The Sonic game we have been waiting for?

I bought the game against my better judgement and got through a lot of it.

It's actually good. It's by no means extraordinary, but it is enjoyable.

The graphics, art direction and music are...

Re: The Sonic game we have been waiting for?

I'm almost 100% sure I'll buy it. I've been reading a couple of reviews, and it looks very good. I don't really care for the negative points that have been brought up about the game either; I...
