Cute. Stylish. Smart. These words are apt when referring to Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure. The game melds devilish puzzle solving with a bold, stylized look and an adorable golden monkey. Although it's a mystery to me, gamers by and large seem to love monkeys. So everybody wins, right? For the most part, yes.
I've played a lot of Madden over the years (and had experience with the other major series before EA got the NFL exclusivity rights), but I'm not one of those guys who plays each year's release. In fact, looking over my Madden collection is sort of like looking at the fossil record of videogame history—I tend to only buy a new Madden release whenever a new console launches, then I don't buy it again until the next generation begins.

Between the tackles or in the open field, run to daylight with Madden NFL 08.

It's easy to dismiss Nintendo's Wii as a $250 gimmick. The console's "revolutionary" library is full of muti-platform movie tie-ins and remakes—not to mention the last minute control-swapping in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Sure, the Wiimote can make first-person shooters more natural to play; it's also probably no small factor in Manhunt 2's infamy. But the real test of the Wiimote is a game that showcases its unique features while integrating them so deeply into the gameplay that its uniqueness doesn't distract us. There haven't been any games that fit the bill. Until now.
