HIGH Riding on a single bullet when I've lined up enemies perfectly in its line of fire.

LOW Riding on a single bullet when I haven't lined up enemies perfectly in its line of fire.

WTF The rule stating that after every three levels comes a puzzle of soul-crushing hardness.

Kingdom of Paradise – Review

Is there a technology-based virus infecting development houses that prevents perfectly good ideas from coming together? An Eastern-themed third-person Action-RPG, Kingdom of Paradise should have been a much-needed killer app for the PSP, but instead amounts to about three days of boredom and repetition.

Kingdom of Paradise

Game Description: 300 years ago, 5 martial clans peacefully ruled Ohka, the center of the known world. In an attempt to gain total supremacy, the Kirin clan brutally attacked the 4 other martial clans to secure the Divine Swords, the symbols of absolute power. A young warrior named Shinbu, along with a girl named Suirin, are the only survivors of their clan. Set in a vast, living world, players will learn to master five styles of martial arts * explore active environments in a crusade to defeat an evil clan. Kingdom of Paradise features more than 150 styles of programmable sword fighting, 15 types of Qigong martial arts, wireless multiplayer connectivity via ad hoc mode and more than 20 hours of gameplay set in a fantastical world. Also download content via infrastructure mode.

Time Stalkers – Review

Time Stalkers is a completely different game—a more traditional RPG rather than an Adventure/RPG. By using the word "traditional," I don't mean to imply that Time Stalkers doesn't try anything new. There are actually several interesting ideas and possibilities floating around in this game.

Time Stalkers – Second Opinion

I never played any of the original Landers games, so I'll leave Ben to speak on the merits of this RPG as it pertains to its Landers lineage. What I can talk about is Time Stalkers as an RPG, and more specifically, a Dreamcast RPG. It's obvious that the Dreamcast needs RPGs, but it's really telling when even Sega can't get its hand on one that is really worthwhile.

Time Stalkers

Game Description: No dungeon is every the same and nothing is what it seems in the high-fantasy world of Time Stalkers for the Dreamcast. You are Sword, an unlikely hero stolen from his home by powerful magic. It's your task to explore dank catacombs and battle fearsome creatures in a quest to unite with fellow heroes, right what has gone wrong, and return home safely. Time Stalkers will keep you hacking and slashing your way through role-playing adventures of magic and mighty steel.
