How can encouraging

How can encouraging publishers to pressure developers into making higher quality games, which people are less likely to sell, be a bad thing?

Thats right; they don't think of it like that. They'd rather point the finger at us gamers who don't want to pay more than they think a game is worth, stamp their feet, and cry "you're exploiting us!"

I think this poll achieves

I think this poll achieves little.

Ultimately it's a delicate balancing act between consumer enjoyment we derive from games, and producer profit which is the motivation for competitive entry thus higher quality games in the future.

The point is, in general, us gamers *won't* pay more than we think a game is worth. They raise or lower prices and marginal consumers will make their buy/don't buy decision based on that. If we don't think a game is worth $50 we *won't* buy it. Simple as.
