Don't like Uncharted 2?

Those of you voting Nay, Meh or don't care... Why hasn't Uncharted 2 clicked with you? It's getting great reviews even though some reviewers and gamers have had negative things to say about the game.

Please feel free to add comments to your votes.

I voted Nay! because I

I voted Nay! because I didn't like the first one and the sequel seems to be more of the same but at a gigantic scale - and I interpret that as the same game with even more silly things in it.

It just hurts me that this title is being associated with the term "cinematic" - as if cinema was nothing more than a narrow line of shallow american action blockbusters produced to make money and entertain intellectually limited teenagers. The fact that the series has been receiving high praise everywhere just nourishes my dissatisfaction.

But I'm an incurable dissident. :)

P.S. I hate the reCAPTCHA codes.

You would hate the flood of spambots more if we turned off the reCaptcha.

I know they are totally

I know they are totally necessary, Chi Kong Lui, but that doesn't mean I have to like them. :) I was just sighing because the last one had numbers, commas and symbols and seemed like a puzzle on its own.

agree/disagree/undecided

didnt vote because to be honest the game is a whole buncha fun to play, but I have problems with it.

ck-

unfortunately the cookie cutter action blockbusters are what cinema passes for nowadays haha. And for marketing purposes I completely understand why the game is being called cinematic.

On the other hand I dont actually think Uncharted falls in line with most action blockbusters, minus the production level. I think it's more b-movie-esque, aware of itself in a way Michael Bay would never venture. Also the voice acting is way more passionate than most physical performances in blockbuster garbage dreams of being.

But voting yay would be to dismiss the issues I have with it. Maybe I'll go Meh. Can't decide.

What I've learned from the

What I've learned from the Uncharted games is that it's much, much more fun to PLAY non-stop action/movie blockbusters than it is to watch them. Not to mention that the characters are likable and funny with sharp acting and writing. I can barely sit through a Michael Bay movie, but I could play through Uncharted 2 three times in a couple weeks and have a blast.

It IS b-movie-esque and doesn't take itself too seriously - just enough for you to have a good time and care enough about the characters. I think it nails the gameplay/movie combination perfectly.

So you vote on a game based on its prequel having never played the game itself. Thats like voting Nay for GTA4 because you never liked the first one.

Uncharted 2 has taken the enjoyable aspects of the first game and embellished on them and not just given them a slick coat of paint, but made fundemental improvements over the first game.

Sure I have one or two issues with the game myself, too much gunplay in some sections and not enough puzzle elements in the game (when puzzles do come up you are basically reading the answers in Drakes journal). But does that detract from the game at all, No.

In short, games like this do not come along very often and to make a negative vote on it on basic principal is rediculous, atleast play the game then if you don't like it, fair enough, THEN why don't you come back and make informed comments about it rather than just speculating.

This is a poll and I see it as someone at a street asking people if they are interested or not in the game. For what I've seen, read and played (Uncharted:DF and U2:Multiplayer Demo) I'm answering no to that person. I don't need to watch Terminator Salvation to know that it's going to be a painful ride (according to my own sensibility). At the moment, the game does not interest me, at all, but I will probably rent it to make "an informed comment". Hey, maybe I'll like it.

Either way, and I repeat, this is just a poll.

Nothing about the poll suggested it was only for people that played the game. From the final option "dont care" i read the poll to be for all potential buyers.

[I did not vote - not having a PS3]

I guess its all about interpretations. Due to the timing of the poll I have assumed that it was a poll about whether people liked the game or not, where as you assumed otherwise.

Coupled with the timing of the poll, Dale Weir's comment "Don't like Uncharted 2?" and "Why hasn't it clicked with you?" also gave me the impression they were looking for opinions of people who had played the game.

If however I have spoken out of turn or out of place I am fully apologetic, but according to how I interpreted the poll my comments are fully valid.

I want exploration, not yet

I want exploration, not yet another FPS/TPS game. Make it more like Broken Sword 4 and I'll be interested.
