Tomb Raider - Lara Croft Cosplay

This is Jenn AKA XtremeJenn, AKA Lara Croft. She is what one might call an extreme cosplayer. Jenn is known in the cosplay community for going a little out of her way to get the best shots when dressed as Tomb Raider's Lara Croft. Case in point, this particular image has her hanging off a 165-foot waterfall in Victoria, Australia. Most of her photo shoots strike that perfect balance of peril and authenticity that in her words "capture the spirit of Lara Croft" so be sure to check them out.

cosplay disorder

I would really like to know what possesses a person to do this. She not only wants to repel down the face of a mountain, but she wants to do it while dressed as a videogame character. Seems a bit odd.

Hero worship

In an interview for the Kickass movie, Nicholas Cage was saying that he knew EMTs that wore T-shirts under their uniforms with the Superman emblem on them. He was demonstrating that everyone wishes they were superheroes in some form or another. Here are these professional people who are indulging in a little hero worship or identification while on the job.

I think we all have a little of that in us to varying degrees. Some people just take it a little further and wear the actual mask and costume in public.
