Parents have little to fear. There's plenty of action, but no gore, sex, or questionable language. My only heads-up would be to religiously conservative parents. Some of the creatures are demonic in nature, so be advised.
Role-playing game fans should not believe the vaguely misleading advertising. Like the first game, there are practically no elements that would qualify it as a console-style RPG, and the fast arcade-like action will turn off people preferring turn-based systems. There's definitely more story this time around, but still not at the level RPG fans expect.
Fans of Magic: The Gathering and other CCGs will want to take special notice of Lost Kingdoms II. There are many shared concepts involving deckbuilding, elemental alignment and command of mythical creatures. If Magic was played in real-time, this is what it would look like.
Fans of the original Lost Kingdoms will find the game worthwhile, but be prepared for some ill-conceived changes that may significantly alter your enjoyment level. Still, it could have been worse, I suppose.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing gamers will have no difficulty with Lost Kingdoms II. All information is presented in full text, and there are no significant auditory cues.
Currently, he's got about 42 minutes a night to play because adulting is a timesuck, but despite that, he's a happily married guy with two kids who both have better K/D ratios than he does.
Brad still loves Transformers, he's on Marvel Puzzle Quest when nobody at the office is looking, and his favorite game of all time is the first Mass Effect -- and he thought the trilogy's ending was Just Fine, Thanks.
